- Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin named three changes to the Dons team that Celtic snuck past 1-0 at Pittodrie in their midweek meeting, before they were held at home in a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone the weekend before last.
- Ross Doohan continued in place of the injured Dimitar Mitov in goal. Jack Milne took Nicky Devlin's place at right-back, with James McGarry continuing at left-back. Gavin Molloy and Slobodan Rubezic were at the heart of the Dons defence.
- Club captain Graeme Shinnie joined Sivert Nilsen in the middle of the park. Shayden Morris replaced Topi Keskinen on the right hand side, with Leighton Clarkson taking Duk's place and Jamie McGrath moving out to the left. Kevin Nisbet spearheaded the Aberdeen attack once again.
- Hibernian manager David Gray named three changes to the Hibs team that recorded a massive 3-0 victory against Motherwell at Fir Park, before losing to Celtic in Glasgow by the same scoreline at Parkhead last Saturday.
- Goalkeeper Jordan Smith kept his place between the sticks. Jack Iredale, Rocky Bushiri and Warren O'Hora continued in the Hibees' backline. Chris Cadden replaced the injured Lewis Miller at right wing-back, as his brother Nicky started on the left.
- Club captain Joe Newell and Nectarios Traintis continued in midfield. Jordan Obita was sat amongst the substitutes, as experienced duo Junior Hoilett and Dwight Gayle accompanied Elie Youan in the Hibees' frontline.
