Team News

Dundee United
Hibernian
  • Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin named two changes to the Terrors team that left it late to nick a point from Kilmarnock in a crazy 3-3 draw at Rugby Park, before they beat St Mirren 1-0 in Paisley prior to the international break.
  • Jack Walton continued in goal behind an unchanged back three of Ross Graham, Declan Gallagher and matchwinner Emmanuel Adegboyega. Will Ferry and Luca Stephenson continued at left wing-back and right wing-back respectively.
  • Craig Sibbald was joined in the middle of the park by Ross Docherty and Vicko Sevelj, as David Babunski dropped onto the bench. Jort van der Sande partnered Sam Dalby in attack, as Louis Moult missed out with a knee issue.
  • Hibernian manager David Gray named an unchanged Hibs team despite the Hibees losing by a sole goal to Rangers at Ibrox, before they lost 2-1 to Motherwell at Easter Road before the international break.
  • Josef Bursik continued in goal behind a back four of Lewis Miller, Marvin Ekpiteta, Warren O'Hora and Jordan Obita. Hyeok-Kyu Kwon was joined by Nectarios Triantis, who was sent off against the Well, in midfield.
  • Joe Newell joins Martin Boyle and Kieran Bowie on the Hibees' treatment table. Junior Hoilett, who scored his first Hibs goal against the Steelmen, was joined by Josh Campbell and Chris Cadden in support of lone striker Mykola Kukharevych.

Prediction

  • Dundee United have lost one Scottish Premiership game so far this season, meanwhile Hibernian have only won one Scottish Premiership match so far this season.
  • United put their recent record against St Mirren to one side, as they clinched just a second win in ten games against the Buddies, before the break. The Terrors became just the fourth newly-promoted team to avoid defeat in their opening four games of a newly-rebranded Scottish Premiership season since Hamilton (5 in 2014/15), Hibernian (9 in 2017/18) and Hearts (5 in 2021/22).
  • Hibernian will be hoping to put their away day hoodoo behind them here, as five of Hibs' last six Scottish Premiership victories have come at Easter Road. The Hibees haven't beaten Dundee United since a 3-1 victory at Tannadice on Boxing Day 2021. They've drawn against the Terrors at Easter Road twice since, but the visitors have lost on both their last two trips to Tannadice.
  • Dundee United will be hoping that their superb start to the season can continue, against Hibs who don't consider Tannadice a happy hunting ground in recent history.
