Team News

Ross County
Hibernian
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made five changes after the Staggies were swept aside by St Johnstone 3-0 as they went down to nine men at McDiarmid Park, before they bounced back from a goal down to beat ten-man Kilmarnock 2-1.
  • Ryan Leak, Akil Wright and Kacper Lopata continued as the trio of County centre-backs behind Ross Laidlaw in goal. The suspended Elijah Campbell and Michee Efete were replaced by Josh Reid and James Brown at left and right wing-back.
  • Connor Randall was joined by Aidan Denholm and Noah Chilvers, replacing Scott Allardice and Josh Nisbet, in midfield. Eamonn Brophy dropped to the bench, as Jordan White partnered Ronan Hale in the County attack.
  • Hibernian manager David Gray named four changes to the Hibs team that suffered a late collapse at Tannadice which saw them lose 3-2 to Dundee United, before they drew in the Edinburgh derby 1-1 with Hearts at Easter Road.
  • Josef Bursik continued in goal behind an unchanged back four of Lewis Miller, Marvin Ekpiteta, Warren O'Hora and Jordan Obita. Hyeok-Kyu Kwon was joined by Nectarios Triantis in midfield after Joe Newell's sending off in Dundee.
  • The incoming Martin Boyle, who was given the captain's armband, and Elie Youan started on the flanks with Chris Cadden and Rudi Molotnikov making way. Junior Hoilett moved centrally to support lone striker Dwight Gayle, who replaced Mykola Kuharevich who netted the derby opener on Sunday.

Prediction

  • The side sat top of the bottom six takes on the team that are bottom of the table in Dingwall, as Ross County host Hibernian in the Highlands on Wednesday night.
  • Ross County's decent recent record against Kilmarnock continued, as the Staggies are now unbeaten in eight home league matches against Killie (winning five) since defeat in March 2017. It was an impressive bounce back from County, who had lost their last two league games before the weekend win and are looking to gatecrash the top six spots of the league table at this early stage.
  • Hibernian's poor recent record continued, the Hibees losing a late leveller at Easter Road on Sunday to Hearts, as Hibs have won just one of their last 12 Edinburgh derbies in the Scottish Premiership against their city rivals. They missed the chance to leapfrog the Jambos, still stuck to the bottom of the Premiership pile, but will be hopeful of ascending up the league table soon.
  • There was a win apiece and two draws in four league meetings last season between these two teams, Ross County won the last of those 2-1 in Dingwall and the Staggies will hope to sneak past Hibs here again.
