Team News

Ross County
Rangers
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made two changes after the Staggies picked up a pivotal three points against Motherwell in Dingwall in a 2-1 win, before they were pumped at Parkhead as they lost 5-0 to Celtic last Saturday in Glasgow.
  • Ross Laidlaw remained in goal. Ryan Leak and Akil Wright were accompanied in the County back three by Elijah Campbell as opposed to Kacper Lopata. George Harmon continued at left wing-back, with James Brown on the right-hand side.
  • Charlie Telfer replaced Staggies skipper Connor Randall to make his first Scottish Premiership start of the season and join Josh Nisbet and Noah Chilvers. Ronan Hale and Jordan White, who took the armband, lead the line at Celtic Park.
  • Rangers boss Philippe Clement made three changes after the Gers' sole goal success against St Johnstone in Perth on Sunday, before a midweek mauling of Kilmarnock at Ibrox where the Gers won 6-0.
  • Jack Butland continued in goal behind a back four of club captain James Tavernier, John Souttar, Leon Balogun who took Robin Pröpper's place and Jefte. Connor Barron made way for Mohamed Diomande in midfield.
  • The Ivorian joined Nico Raskin sat in front of the Gers backline once again.
  • Nedim Bajrami made way for Danilo to accompany Ianis Hagi and Vaclav Cerny in support of Hamza Igamane up front.

Prediction

  • A Ross County side that conceded five goals in their last outing take on a Rangers team that scored six in their last league game, in Sunday's sole Scottish Premiership match.
  • Ross County were swept aside by Celtic at Parkhead, as the league leaders hit County for five in a dominant first-half display. It was a case of damage limitation as the Staggies shut up shop and didn't concede in the second period. But having beaten Rangers just once before, the hosts have nothing to lose as their season won't be defined by these fixtures against the top two teams.
  • The Gers head to the Highlands full of confidence after a dominant display of their own, where they smashed six past Kilmarnock having already done so against their weekend opponents at Hampden in August. The goals in both those wins account for half of Rangers' league goals so far this season (12/24) as they hunt down second-placed Aberdeen, who they trail by four points.
  • Rangers were rampant in their midweek match so, despite Ross County being well-rested ahead of the weekend's match, the Gers should take care of County in Dingwall on Sunday.
