- St Johnstone boss Simo Valakari named two changes to the Saints side that lost 2-1 to Hearts at McDiarmid Park, before a defeat to Motherwell at Fir Park by the same scoreline before the international break.
- Josh Rae replaced Ross Sinclair in goal behind a back four of Barry Douglas, Kyle Cameron, Jack Sanders and Drey Wright. Matt Smith came into the four-man midfield to accompany Graham Carey, Sven Sprangler and Jason Holt.
- Benji Kimpioka dropped out of the starting eleven. Adama Sidibeh was joined in attack by Nicky Clark, who has scored two penalties in as many Scottish Premiership matches and three goals in four league games.
- Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes named three changes to the Killie team that blew a two goal lead at Dens Park as they lost 3-2 to Dundee, before a 2-0 defeat to Celtic at Rugby Park before the international break.
- Robby McCrorie continued in goal behind a back four of Lewis Mayo, Joe Wright (who replaced the injured Stuart Findlay), Robbie Deas and Corrie Ndaba. Danny Armstrong is also injured, so Liam Donnelly took his place as Matty Kennedy continued on the left hand-side.
- Brad Lyons and David Watson remained in the middle of the park. Despite scoring against Dundee, Bruce Anderson made way for Marley Watkins to accompany Kyle Vassell in the Kilmarnock attack.
