  • Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin named an unchanged Dons team after a statement 2-1 victory over Rangers at Pittodrie, before they were humbled at Hampden in the Scottish League Cup semi-final losing 6-0 to Celtic.
  • Dimitar Mitov continued in goal behind the unchanged back four of Jack MacKenzie, Gavin Molloy, Slobodan Rubezic and Nicky Devlin. Sivert Nilsen was joined in midfield by club captain Graeme Shinnie as opposed to Ante Palaversa.
  • Duk, Jamie McGrath and Topi Keskinen were looking to provide the ammunition for lone striker Ester Sokler. Shayden Morris came off the bench to net the winner with he, Vicente Besuijen, Leighton Clarkson and Peter Ambrose pushing to start.
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made two changes from the Dee team that lost 2-0 to Celtic at Parkhead in their match last midweek, before a terrific turnaround saw them defeat Kilmarnock 3-2 at Dens Park last weekend.
  • Jon McCracken continued in goal behind Ryan Astley, Clark Robertson and Antonio Portales in the Dee defence. Ziyad Larkeche, who completed the comeback against Killie, and Ethan Ingram continued at left and right wing-back respectively.
  • Mo Sylla and Lyall Cameron remained in the middle of the park. Finlay Robertson and Josh Mulligan made way for Seb Palmer-Houlden and Oluwaseun Adewumi to support Simon Murray in attack.

Prediction

  • Two of the current top six, heading into this weekend's matches, in the Scottish Premiership meet as Aberdeen host Dundee at Pittodrie on Saturday evening.
  • Outsiders will believe that Aberdeen's bubble has burst as the Dons came crashing back down to earth following a 6-0 Hampden humbling by Celtic in the League Cup semi-final. The Reds have enjoyed a near-perfect start to their league season and, having won against Rangers in their last match at Pittodrie, will fancy their chances of beating Dundee for the second time this season.
  • Dundee did to Kilmarnock what Killie did to the Dee, as a terrific turnaround from a two-goal deficit saw the home side beat the away team 3-2 at Dens Park, after an insane victory for the visitors against the hosts at the same stadium just last month. Having now crept into the top six, the aspiration should be to stay there for a second successive season but consistency will be key.
  • The Dons squeezed past Dundee 2-1 at Dens Park in September, so Aberdeen will want to get back on the winning trail against the Dee to continue their superb start to the season.
