Team News

St. Mirren
Ross County
  • St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson named an unchanged Saints XI after the Buddies were beaten 2-1 by Rangers at Ibrox last weekend, but it proved beneficial as they beat St Johnstone 3-1 in Paisley on Wednesday night.
  • Ellery Balcombe continued in goal behind an unchanged back three of Charles Dunne, Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser. Elvis Bwomono continued at right wing-back and Scott Tanser remained at left wing-back.
  • Killian Phillips started alongside club captain Mark O'Hara in midfield. Kevin van Veen has a foot injury, so James Scott accompanied Greg Kiltie in support of Toyosi Olusanya up front.
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made just one change after the Staggies bounced back from a goal down to beat 10-man Kilmarnock 2-1, before they were held at home by Hibernian in a goalless draw in Dingwall on Wednesday night.
  • Ryan Leak, Akil Wright and Kacper Lopata continued as the trio of County centre-backs behind Ross Laidlaw in goal. James Brown kept his place at right wing-back but Elijah Campbell returned from suspension to start at left wing-back in place of Josh Reid.
  • Club captain Connor Randall was joined by Aidan Denholm and Noah Chilvers in the middle of the park. Jordan White partnered Ronan Hale in the County attack, with both unable to score against Hibs in midweek.

Prediction

  • Seventh-placed St Mirren host Ross County in eighth at the SMISA Stadium in one of two Scottish Premiership matches taking place on Saturday afternoon.
  • The Buddies bounced back after four consecutive Scottish Premiership defeats from an early St Johnstone opener to beat Saints in midweek, and will be hopeful of recording back-to-back victories as they aim to ascend up the league table. After winning three successive home games from February to March, Wednesday's win was just the third victory in ten on home soil for Saints.
  • Ross County missed out on the chance to enjoy back-to-back top-flight victories over Hibernian for the first time since 2012/13 as the Staggies were held in a goalless draw in Dingwall by the Hibees on Wednesday night. The Staggies picked up four points from their two meetings with St Mirren in the Highlands last season, but lost the other in Paisley so want to avoid a similar story.
  • Ross County haven't scored in their last five league trips to Paisley, with Saints winning four of those so the Buddies will be confident of beating County this weekend.
