- Rangers boss Philippe Clement made two changes from the Gers booking their place in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals with a 3-0 victory over Dundee at Ibrox, before they won 2-0 away to Swedish side Malmo in the Europa League.
- Jack Butland continued in goal behind a back four of James Tavernier, John Souttar, Robin Pröpper and Neraysho Kasanwirjo who made his first Rangers start at left back as Jefte made way.
- Mohamed Diomande replaced Dujon Sterling in midfield, to accompany Connor Barron and Tom Lawrence. Nedim Bajrami and Vaclav Cerny supported lone striker Cyriel Dessers in Sweden.
- Hibernian manager David Gray made three changes from the Hibees conceding a late leveller at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock before the international break, as they bounced back with a 2-0 win over St Johnstone at Easter Road a fortnight ago.
- Lewis Miller was away on international duty with Australia, so Chris Cadden took his place at right-back to join Marvin Ekpiteta, stand-in skipper Warren O'Hora and Jordan Obita in the back four.
- Joe Newell missed out through injury, as Nicky Cadden took his place in midfield. Martin Boyle was also part of the Socceroos squad so didn't start, but came off the bench to score against Saints, as Élie Youan took his place in the starting eleven.
