Team News

Hibernian
Dundee FC
  • Hibernian manager David Gray made two changes from the Hibees' 2-0 Scottish Premiership defeat to Celtic at Easter Road, before the Hoops knocked Hibs out of the League Cup at Parkhead courtesy of a 3-1 victory.
  • Rocky Bushiri entered the three-man defence, lining up alongside Warren O'Hora and Marvin Ekpiteta as Dylan Levitt made way for an extra body at the back. Jordan Obita and Lewis Miller started at left wing-back and right wing-back respectively.
  • Rudi Molotnikov was the other player sacrificed, as Nathan Moriah-Welsh accompanied Joe Newell and Josh Campbell in their three-man midfield. Martin Boyle partnered goalscorer Mykola Kukharevych in attack at the weekend.
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made just one change from the Dee's 3-1 Scottish Premiership victory over Hearts at Dens Park, before they advanced into the Scottish League Cup quarter-finals with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Airdrie.
  • The only change came between the sticks against their Championship opponents, as Trevor Carson took Jon McCracken's place in goal. Ziyad Larkeche, Jordan McGhee, Antonio Portales and Ethan Ingram made up the Dundee back four.
  • The midfield trio consisted of Luke McCowan, Mo Sylla and Lyall Cameron. Scott Tiffoney and Seb Palmer-Houlden were amongst the six different goalscorers, supporting former Hibs striker Simon Murray in attack.

Prediction

  • Hibernian were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup at the weekend, but return to league duty at Easter Road against a Dundee team that advanced into the quarter-finals.
  • The Hibees are yet to score a Scottish Premiership goal this season, having lost to two top six sides from last season - St Mirren and Celtic - so far this season. Having now been knocked out of the League Cup, attention turns towards league matters and it's pivotal that they start to pick up points. The longer they leave it, the trickier the task to get the first points on the board becomes.
  • Dundee's start to the season makes it appear as though they are this season's Scottish Premiership entertainers. 24 goals in five League Cup games, against a variety of opponents, showcase their firepower. The derby draw could probably be considered a disappointment but having beat Hearts at home in their last league match comfortably, they'll fancy a quickfire capital club double.
  • Dundee have had an impressive start to the season and, despite not beating Hibernian in Edinburgh for over 20 years, they will fancy their chances of holding Hibs at home this weekend.
