Team News

Ross County
Aberdeen
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made three changes after the Staggies were embarrassed 1-0 by League Two side Spartans in the Scottish League Cup, before the Staggies were smashed 6-0 by Rangers at Hampden in their return to league action.
  • Michee Efete and Akil Wright entered the County defence, at James Brown and Ryan Leak's expense, joining Will Nightingale and George Harmon at left-back. Jack Grieves replaced Noah Chilvers on the right-hand side of midfield.
  • Connor Randall and Victor Loturi kept their central berths, with Hearts loanee Aidan Denholm on the left-hand side of midfield. Jordan White and Ronan Hale lead the line for the Staggies at the national stadium last weekend.
  • Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin made two changes to the Dons team that snuck past Queen's Park by a sole goal and into the last eight of the Scottish League Cup, before a comfortable 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Pittodrie on Sunday.
  • Slobodan Rubezic was suspended against the Spiders, but returned at Jack Milne's expense at the back. Nicky Devlin and Jack MacKenzie continued at right-back and left-back respectively as Graeme Shinnie and Sivert Heltne Nilsen sat in front of the back four.
  • Shayden Morris made way for Topi Keskinen, who came off the bench to net the winner on his Dons debut against Queen's Park, to start on the right. Jamie McGrath was chosen on the left, as Ester Sokler supported Pape Gueye - who bagged a brace against Killie - in attack.

Prediction

  • Saturday evening's sole Scottish Premiership fixture sees Ross County host Aberdeen in Dingwall, with County yet to win in the league and the Dons yet to draw or lose.
  • The Staggies had drawn each of their last four Scottish Premiership matches, before their humping at Hampden, with the last team to record five successive league draws in the top tier was Hibs back in October 2019. Their rotten record against Rangers continued, but those types of matches won't define Ross County's season, yet their task to win this weekend is certainly a tricky one.
  • Aberdeen's superb start to the season continued on Sunday, as the Dons have now gone 12 Scottish Premiership matches without defeat for the first time since February 2016. It's eight straight victories in all competitions for the Dandies, but this is the first time that they have opened their Scottish Premiership campaign with three wins in their opening trio of games since 2017/18.
  • Ross County are conceding goals aplenty and, given Aberdeen's superb start to the season, the Dons should have no problem in sweeping the Staggies aside on Saturday evening in Dingwall.
