Team News

Dundee FC
Aberdeen
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made four changes from the Dee being defeated 2-0 in Dingwall by Ross County, before they were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup after losing 3-0 to Rangers at Ibrox last Saturday.
  • Trevor Carson replaced Jon McCracken in goal. The back four consisted of Ziyad Larkeche, Antonio Portales, Billy Koumetio and Jordan McGhee who took Ethan Ingram's place at right-back.
  • Sam Braybrooke started at Josh Mulligan's expense in the middle of the park to join Lyall Cameron and Mo Sylla. Scott Tiffoney was joined by Oluwasen Adewumi, as opposed to Seb Palmer-Houlden, to support Simon Murray up front.
  • Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin just one change to the Dons team that defeated Motherwell 2-1 at Pittodrie, before they booked their place in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals with a 4-0 victory over League 2 side Spartans last Saturday.
  • Dimitar Mitov kept a seventh clean sheet of the season as Jack MacKenzie, Gavin Molloy, Slobodan Rubezic and Nicky Devlin made up the back four in front of him. Graeme Shinnie returned from illness to sit on the bench against the capital club.
  • Ante Palaversa and Sivert Nilsen sat as the duo in front of the back four. Jamie McGrath, Pape Gueye and Leighton Clarkson - who took Topi Keskinen's place - in support of Kevin Nisbet in the Aberdeen attack.

Prediction

  • Dundee and Aberdeen meet at Dens Park, with the hosts looking to emulate last season's success but the visitors putting a poor campaign firmly behind them.
  • Dundee crashed out of the Scottish League Cup quarter-final for the fifth successive time since 1986, after defeat to Rangers in Glasgow. The Dee have won just one Scottish Premiership match so far this season, at home to Hearts, but have only lost once which was to Ross County last time out. If they can turn these crazy 2-2 draws into victories, they'll soon ascend up the league table.
  • Aberdeen booked a Hampden showdown with Celtic at the start of November, making light work of lower league outfit Spartans to secure a semi-final spot in the Scottish League Cup. Eleven victories from as many matches in all competitions, seven clean sheets and five victories from as many Premiership matches, it's easy to run out of superlatives for the Dons given their superb start.
  • Dundee were victorious over Aberdeen at Dens Park last season, drawing twice to the Dons at Pittodrie in the other two meetings, but the Dons should depart Dens with three points given their recent run.
