Team News

Sunderland
Sheff Wed
  • Regis Le Bris should revert back to the same starting XI that beat Cardiff following a miserable Carabao Cup defeat to Preston on Tuesday night.
  • Winger Ian Poveda remains a doubt and will likely miss the visit of his former club, while centre-back duo Jenson Seelt and Dan Ballard are also unavailable.
  • Danny Röhl watched on in delight last weekend as his men thrashed Plymouth, so expect an unchanged starting XI from Sunday's visitors.
  • Goalkeeper Ben Hamer remains Sheffield Wednesday's only confirmed absentee for the trip to the Stadium of Light.

Prediction

  • Regis Le Bris' tenure got off to the perfect start last Saturday as goals from Luke O'Nien and Trai Hume helped to seal a deserved 2-0 away win against Cardiff.
  • The Black Cats then followed this up with a lacklustre 2-0 defeat to Preston in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, which has dulled the optimism slightly ahead of this testing clash.
  • Sheffield Wednesday's season started in perfect fashion last weekend as they annihilated Wayne Rooney's Plymouth side in a 4-0 home triumph.
  • Smart summer recruitment has left Danny Röhl in a position to fight in the top half this season following a nervous fight against relegation last time around.

  • Sunderland were very impressive destroying Sheff Wed.

  • i think the Owls are underestimated by the bookies in this league . They had a fantastic end to last season , look to have a ppointed a new and very astute German manager and I thinkthey will go well this year. I have backed them in the outrights and to finish top 6 atdecent prices. This is an away win for me and 3.40 should be taken

  • @Isaac2000 u sure abt.....bcos am staking a whole lot of cash on diz exact game

  • Sunderland always flatter to deceive and unexpectedly lose games they are sure to win. Wednesday turn up full f confidence. You’d expect a draw but I’m siding … just … with a dodgy goal to win the game for Wednesday. 1-2

  • @Bilcao Two in a row now. Keep predicting against Sunderland and I'll be happy
