Man City
Man Utd
  • Ederson and Rico Lewis are doubts for Manchester City, with Stefan Ortega potentially deputising for the former.
  • Rodri, John Stones, Kyle Walker and Phil Foden are expected to play no part against Manchester United.
  • Julian Alvarez is on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid.
  • Erik ten Hag has a number of injury concerns ahead of Saturday's meeting with Manchester City.
  • Summer signing Leny Yoro misses out, while fellow arrival Joshua Zirkzee should play in place of the injured Rasmus Hojlund.
  • Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri have only recently returned to training following summer commitments with their respective national teams.

Prediction

  • The Premier League's curtain raiser kicks off on Saturday afternoon as Manchester City and Manchester United look to lift the 2024 Community Shield.
  • City have lost their last three Community Shield games, falling to Leicester, Liverpool and Arsenal in that run, and will be keen to make amends this weekend.
  • Rivals United, though, denied City a domestic double as they upset the odds to beat Pep Guardiola's side in the FA Cup final back in May.
  • While City have struggled in this fixture in recent seasons, they may come out on top in this one.

  • Rasfhord should be loaned to Sunday League

  • Man City have failed to Win each of the last 3 community shields.

  • @Marbella Because of curse win community shields will lose EPL champion, Guardiola known this well.

  • I hate the mentality of this team so much, United just gave the cup away. Physically became weaker after the goal, wasted time in their own half. Kept Rashford on instead of Diallo in the second half, the guy misses a lot of clear chances and then score one in 5 to save himself. Bernardo could've been red carded there, contact after whistle and fully intentional. We saw many games United threw away last season and it's exactly because of this mentality, another hopeless season incoming just with a few improvements.

  • @Byakuya MU need a good psychiatrist to sort out the players and manager mentality.

  • @Marbella If it was City 1 up, they would waste time around corner flag. They would make runs forward, anything to keep United away from their goal. But United players acted like the game will finally finish and they will go home, how many games like this and how come Ten Hag doesn't shout at his players? This is not winning mentality, my vote for the game was 1-1 already but City were much worse than expected and United should've taken advantage of it. A good psychiatrist would also go crazy with these, cursed club.

  • Super sub Garnacho.

  • @Marbella he is super regardless sub or not

  • This United side has no chance on paper, they win whenever they're expected to be destroyed though so there's hope.

  • so City wont be champions

  • Haaland +110 / Bruno F. +400 TSA

  • Over 2.5 goals @ 1.65 Odds

  • MAN CITY Ederson, Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, Kovacic, O’Reilly, McAtee, Bobb, Doku, Haaland.

  • MAN UTD Onana, Maguire, Martinez, Evans, Dalot, Casemiro, Mainoo, Fernandes, Amad, Mount, Rashford.

  • can't see anything but a city win here, over 2.5 goals is th safest option

  • Over 2.5 goals. Both sides expected to name 2 very attacking sides.
