Team News

Ross County
Aberdeen
  • Interim Ross County boss Don Cowie named two changes to the Staggies side that was demolished in Dingwall 5-1 by Motherwell on Saturday, before a late sickener saw them draw 1-1 against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in midweek.
  • Ross Laidlaw carried on in goal behind Will Nightingale, Jack Baldwin and Ryan Leak in the Staggies' back three. George Harmon replaced Josh Reid at left wing-back with Michee Efete keeping his place on the right-hand side.
  • Yan Dhanda looked to have fired Ross County to safety, as he gave them the lead in Perth, before St Johnstone equalised late on. He supported a strike duo of Simon Murray and Jordan White, who took Eamonn Brophy's place up front.
  • Interim Aberdeen boss Peter Leven named five changes to the Dons team that recorded a wonderful 4-0 win at Easter Road against Hibernian in Edinburgh on Sunday afternoon, before they hammered Livingston 5-1 at Pittodrie in midweek.
  • Kelle Ross made way for Ross Doohan in goal. James McGarry took Jack MacKenzie's spot at left-back to join Angus MacDonald, Stefan Gartenmann and Nicky Devlin in defence. Graeme Shinnie replaced Leighton Clarkson in midfield.
  • Jamie McGrath and Bojan Miovski were replaced by a new strike duo of Duk and Ester Sokler. Teenage talent Fletcher Boyd came off the bench to score against Hibs, and the 16-year-old repeated the feat against Livingston on Wednesday.

Prediction

  • Ross County are looking to maintain their Scottish Premiership status with a win against an Aberdeen team who can secure seventh spot in the league table to conclude the campaign.
  • The Staggies will most likely need a victory against Aberdeen if they are to avoid the dreaded relegation playoff, which they participated in last season. A draw isn't a disaster, as long as St Johnstone don't beat Motherwell at Fir Park given Saints' superior goal difference. However, it's in their hands - match or better St Johnstone's last day result and they should be safe this season.
  • Aberdeen enter this match determined to conclude the Scottish Premiership season with five victories against the other five sides in the bottom half of the league table. The summer should bring changes at Pittodrie, with a new manager arriving from Sweden in June. Jimmy Thelin will enter the Dons dugout this summer in a greater state than it originally looked, given their red hot form.
  • Ross County's need for a victory is far greater than Aberdeen's, but the Dons are firing on all cylinders at the moment and could have the Staggies sweating surrounding their top-tier status.
