Team News

Ross County
Hibernian
  • Interim Ross County boss Don Cowie named an unchanged Staggies side after their first ever victory over Rangers at the 25th attempt with a 3-2 success in Dingwall, before a 2-0 defeat away to Livingston last Saturday afternoon.
  • Ross Laidlaw continued behind an unchanged defence consisting of Connor Randall, Michee Efete, Jack Baldwin, Ryan Leak and George Harmon. Eli King, Victor Loturi and Yan Dhanda continued as the midfield trio.
  • Although a winger by default, Josh Sims was chosen to partner Simon Murray in attack as Jordan White and Eamonn Brophy had to settle for places amongst the substitutes against Livi last weekend.
  • Hibernian manager Nick Montgomery made just one enforced change to the Hibees' starting eleven despite missing out on the top six after being held in a 1-1 draw with Motherwell at Fir Park, before a 3-1 win in Perth against St Johnstone.
  • David Marshall continued in goal behind a back four consisting of Jordan Obita, Rocky Bushiri, Will Fish and Chris Cadden. Joe Newell was joined by Nathan Moriah-Welsh as Nectarios Triantis returned to the bench at McDiarmid Park.
  • Élie Youan is injured, so Myziane Maolida moved out to the left hand-side as Adam Le Fondre took the Frenchman's place up front. The veteran striker was supported by Emiliano Marcondes and Martin Boyle on the right hand-side.

Prediction

  • Ross County are scrapping for their top tier survival, and host a Hibs side that are looking to nail down seventh spot in the Scottish Premiership table as the two teams go toe-to-toe in Dingwall this weekend.
  • After a historic first-ever victory over Rangers for Ross County, the Staggies fell to their seventh successive away defeat. The loss to Livingston meant County have lost seven matches on the spin - away from Dingwall - for the very first time in the top tier. It proved a real sickener on Saturday for the Highlanders, who have Hibs to thank - after the Hibees beat St Johnstone in Perth - that they sit only a point behind Saints as opposed to two or four.
  • Hibernian have never lost three top-tier matches in a row to St Johnstone this century, and kept that record intact thanks to a wonderful 3-1 win against Saints at McDiarmid Park last weekend. The Hibees haven't lost back-to-back Scottish Premiership games in Perth since October 2010, so kept another accolade alive and put an end to a run of seven away league games without a victory. A win here would aid their quest to finish seventh this season.
  • The two teams have played out two 2-2 draws in the Scottish Premiership this season, either side of a 2-0 win for Hibs at Easter Road, but a third may be on the cards given both teams' defensive frailties.
