Team News

Livingston
Ross County
  • Livingston manager Davie Martindale made just one change after the Lions held Aberdeen to a goalless draw in West Lothian, before Livi spurned a two goal lead to lose 4-2 at Tynecastle against Hearts the weekend before last.
  • Shamal George continued in goal behind an unchanged back four of Sean Kelly, Ayo Obileye, Mikey Devlin and Michael Nottingham. Jamie Brandon, Scott Pittman and Stephen Kelly - who bagged a brace in Edinburgh - continued in midfield.
  • They were joined by Jason Holt, as opposed to Steven Bradley, as Scott Pittman moved to the right flank. Daniel MacKay was out on the left, supporting lone striker Tete Yengi who was sent off against the Jambos not even on the field of play.
  • Interim Ross County boss Don Cowie made five changes after the Staggies' sole goal defeat to Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, before their first ever victory over Rangers at the 25th attempt with a 3-2 success in their last Scottish Premiership match.
  • Ross Laidlaw took George Wickens' place between the sticks. George Harmon replaced Josh Reid at left-back, as Connor Randall moved to right-back. Victor Loturi joined Eli King in midfield as Loick Ayina dropped onto the bench.
  • Centre forward duo Jordan White and Eamonn Brophy made way for Josh Sims and Yan Dhanda to support Simon Murray, this time playing as the Staggies' sole striker, in attack.

Prediction

  • The Scottish Premiership's bottom two meet in West Lothian, as Livingston host Ross County with the hosts' top-tier status in doubt and the visitors hoping to creep out of the relegation playoff place.
  • Livi's last match probably sums up their season as, even at two goals to the good, they didn't look all that comfortable against Hearts at Tynecastle where they eventually surrendered their advantage to lose 4-2. Any result other than a win will confirm the Lions' relegation to the Championship but they will be aware that Ross County are yet to keep a clean sheet under Don Cowie.
  • But the Staggies created history last time out as - at the 25th time of asking - Ross County finally beat Rangers in a competitive match. Having lost 20 of the 24 previous meetings, the Highlanders closed the gap on St Johnstone after they lost to Kilmarnock at home. Saints, who host Hibs on Saturday, are just a point away as County look to steer themselves towards safety.
  • Livingston haven't won any of their three league meetings with Ross County this season and, having lost to the Staggies in Dingwall, their relegation to Scotland's second tier could be confirmed this weekend.
