- Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers named an unchanged Celts side after a 2-1 victory over Dundee at Dens Park, before the Hoops hammered Hearts 3-0 at Parkhead in their last Scottish Premiership outing last Saturday.
- Liam Scales returned to the heart of the Celtic defence, accompanying Cameron Carter-Vickers in front of Joe Hart in goal. Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor continued at right-back and left-back respectively.
- Club captain Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Matt O'Riley made up the Hoops midfield. James Forrest was rewarded with a start against Hearts after bagging a brace against Dundee, he and Nicholas Kuhn supporting Kyogo Furuhashi in attack. Daizen Maeda was back on the bench last weekend.
- Rangers boss Philippe Clement named an unchanged Gers team after clinching a 2-1 victory over St Mirren in Paisley, before sweeping ten-man Kilmarnock aside last Sunday 4-1 at Ibrox.
- Borna Barisic joined James Tavernier, Leon Balogun and John Souttar in the Gers defence at left-back. Dujon Sterling moved from left back to right wing, as Abdallah Sima missed the St Mirren and Killie games through injury.
- Fabio Silva started on the left at the injured Rabbi Matondo's expense. Mohamed Diomande and John Lundstram started in front of the back four with Todd Cantwell supporting lone striker Cyriel Dessers once again.
