Team News

Rangers
Kilmarnock
  • Rangers boss Philippe Clement named two changes to the Gers team that progressed into the Scottish Cup final after beating Hearts 2-0 at Hampden, before clinching a 2-1 victory over St Mirren in Paisley on league duty.
  • Borna Barisic joined James Tavernier, Leon Balogun and John Souttar in the Gers defence at left-back. Dujon Sterling moved from left back to right wing, as Abdallah Sima missed the St Mirren match through injury.
  • The other switch came on the other flank, as Fabio Silva started at the injured Rabbi Matondo's expense. Mohamed Diomande and John Lundstram started in front of the back four with Todd Cantwell supporting lone striker Cyriel Dessers.
  • Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes made one change to the Killie team that sealed a third away league win of the season as they beat St Johnstone 2-0 in Perth, before they held Hearts to a goalless draw in Ayrshire last Saturday.
  • Will Dennis continued in goal behind a defensive trio of Stuart Findlay, Joe Wright and Lewis Mayo. Robbie Deas came in for David Watson as Killie moved to a 4-4-2 as opposed to a 3-5-2.
  • Liam Donnelly and Liam Polworth continued in the middle of the park. Danny Armstrong started on the right-hand side of midfield, with Matty Kennedy on the left-hand side. Club captain Kyle Vassell and Marley Watkins lead the line for Killie.

Prediction

  • Second spot hosts the side in fourth place, as Rangers and Kilmarnock lock horns at Ibrox in Sunday's sole Scottish Premiership fixture.
  • The Gers managed to put pressure on Celtic as they set the tone with a win over St Mirren in Paisley before the Hoops headed to take on Dundee at Dens Park last Sunday. This weekend, the league leaders are at home to Hearts before Rangers must respond and equal or better Celtic's result. With next week's Old Firm in their sights, that could become meaningless if they fail to keep pace.
  • Killie could've cut the gap on Hearts to eight points and have the Jambos sweating over third spot, but a goalless draw on Saturday reflected the close battles between them and the capital club this season. Having beaten Rangers on the opening day of the season, they would love to clinch a second Scottish Premiership win over the Gers in order to essentially secure a fourth place finish.
  • Despite their disaster on the opening day where they lost at Rugby Park, Rangers have beaten Killie twice this calendar year and must clinch a third win to keep their title challenge alive.
