Hearts
- St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson named an unchanged Saints side as they won 3-1 at Dens Park against Dundee, before the Buddies were beaten 1-0 at home to Kilmarnock who they were challenging for fourth place.
- Zach Hemming continued behind an unchanged back three of James Bolton, Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser. Scott Tanser and Ryan Strain carried on at left wing-back and right wing-back respectively.
- Club captain Mark O'Hara and Caolan Boyd-Munce remained in the middle of the park. The only change before the Dundee victory saw Greg Kiltie drop to the bench, as Toyosi Olsuanya joined Conor McMenamin and Mikael Mandron in attack.
- Hearts boss Steven Naismith named three changes to the Jambos' eleven after they secured third place despite being swept aside 3-0 at Celtic Park against the league leaders, before beating Dundee at Tynecastle by the same scoreline on Saturday.
- Craig Gordon claimed just a second Scottish Premiership start of the season in goal, replacing Zander Clark, as the Jambos kept a 16th league clean sheet. Frankie Kent and Jorge Grant dropped onto the bench as Hearts changed shape.
- Incoming duo Alan Forrest and Barrie McKay started on the flanks, as Beni Baningime and Cammy Devlin continued in midfield. Kenneth Vargas started alongside Lawrence Shankland in attack, and both scored last time out.
