  • At about 30 minutes it looked like Man City committed a foul throw.

  • Some observations for posterity: City turned up and played very well particularly Rodri and Kovacic. For Tottenham, VdV and Romero played well but should've protected Vicario who was getting targeted at corners all game. It would be harsh to blame VdV for the goal but had Ben Davies let the ball bounce off him like that it he would be thrown under the bus by certain "fans". Richarlison worked his socks off and pressed well but wasn't great at making space for himself. Werner got into some excellent positions but didn't receive much service. Bentancur and Maddison did not play well. Kulusevki kept the ball well at times but didn't help create very much. Porro was good in defence but his service was unusually bad. Udogie did well at times but also gave the ball away. Hojbjerg did well first half but gave the ball away dangerously twice in the second half. Johnson looks low on confidence. Son and Sarr both missed.

  • @MEHJones Thank you, as someone who missed the game this was a very helpful summary. Baffled by how a team as typically attack-minded as Spurs can have just one shot over 90 minutes

  • I feel like the timing of the match as the first game back post-winter break must've played a part. Usually we see teams come back fresher and hungrier, but maybe the players were pissed that Ange didn't give them the holiday abroad that teams like City had

  • First goal scored at that stadium and it wasn't even a proper goal LOL

  • @Sputnik City have also missed two penalties there if memory serves correctly.

  • Not Bentancur's best game.

  • It's still 0-0 but it's possible that Maddison and de Bruyne will come on with 30 minutes left and for it to end 3-3

  • City are certainly capable of beating Tottenham by several goals but they don't often seem to do it. City don't like chaos so the more chaotic the game is, the greater the chance the Tottenham will win. Tottenham won't have Son who tends to Tottenham's goal scored against City. However, I suspect Maddison will start (given how Ange reintroduced VdV after his injury). Vicario will need to continue his form and Richarlison will need to press like he did against United. I expect Werner to get at least one assist from a cut back. Kulusevski could be key later on. Tottenham 3-2 Man City

  • @MEHJones lol yet again…

  • @eastend1 Tottenham live in your head rent free.

  • @MEHJones LOL, Maddison doesn't start

  • Alvarez To Score Anytime

  • The last City player to score against Tottenham away from home in the League was... Riyad Mahrez in October 2018

  • @MEHJones But this is a cup game which tends to make it easier for hood dos to be broken and Tottenham are in huge XG debt to City.

  • Pep about to add 1 more to his 115 charges as it's going to be a criminal offence to lose to spurs again...

  • James Maddison is 'ready to play' after coming back from a bad injury.

  • draw

  • I can't understand why Tottenham almost always beat Man City. There are very few games I remember between these 2 when Tottenham didn't win. I don't think there is any team that has beat City more than Tottenham since Pep arrived.

  • BTTS and Over 2.5 goals in the game.

  • no way whoscored predict man city not to score, nonsense

  • MC have failed to win 5 of their last 13 away matches.

  • @Marbella not lost in 8
