Team News

Denmark
England
  • Denmark have no injury worries ahead of their second group game.
  • Luke Shaw is England's only confirmed absentee ahead of the clash with Denmark.
  • Gareth Southgate is likely to go with the same XI as that which started the group opener against Serbia.

Prediction

  • Denmark took an early lead in their opening match against Slovenia in Group C, but ultimately had to settle for a draw after Erik Janza's 77th-minute equaliser.
  • The Danes meet England in a second successive European Championship finals, having lost to the Three Lions in the semi-final three years ago.
  • England, meanwhile, were largely uninspiring in their win over Serbia on Sunday evening, with Jude Bellingham to thank for a crucial three points.
  • Gareth Southgate's side will face another test here, but should edge out their opponents to qualify for the round of 16 at the earliest opportunity.

  • I think Southgate needs time (2 or 3 more International tournaments to try out).

  • Rice too overrated. Negative passing and maybe he’ll tackle once a game. Commentators gush over him taking the ball out of a dangerous situation but he never made the crucial tackle, he’s too far ahead of where he should be to make that tackle.

  • Southgate should have used Palmer to create chances and score goals. i would prefere 4-4-2 with Foden behind Kane, then swing the and shape the midfield as he wants.

  • start Mainoo you coward

  • @Zootball Yet another Pokémon.

  • @Zootball not even a sub, lol

  • Terrible performance by England. They kept passing it backwards.Kane subbed as he was not running much when England tried to play a high press.

  • Watkins, Eze, Bowen... Southgate's substitutions sound like unevolved Pokémon.

  • Why is England so bad and plays so poorly ? They have good players but perform like an underdog.

  • @neumi17 Same Q on my mind, I hope they play France again in knockouts. Those 2 teams deserve each other. BORING

  • @tkr come on, England won't finish third, so France won't be able to kick them out.

  • I haven't watched the first half, joining for the 2nd. How is Denmark outshooting England 10 to 6? I'd have thought they would have their act together by now after such a lame opening game.

  • @tkr Note to self, England doesn't have a coherent midfield and Denmark are a more cohesive team. Bellingham isn't a midfielder, he is a 2nd striker who didn't get service today. Denmark deserved a win, England lucky to get the draw. Pickford yelling at teammates to do something and go forward tells it all.

  • Why does England have so few actual midfielders on the roster? It's like someone made a FIFA team of attackers and forgot the guys who have to control the middle of the park.

  • @Telly It's because these days so many midfielders are counted as forwards. It's a reverse of how it used to be. I can't explain why that is, probably since we've veered away from 4-4-2 as the norm where the no.10 was the second striker.

  • @tinyclaw They basically played 5-1-4 today with Rice doing all the work in the midfield by himself. The England side desperately needs some CMs and CDMs to control the flow of the game.

  • @Telly Trent is supposed to do that. Or Gallagher after. Mainoo and Wharton also on the bench. The midfielders are here, there is "just" a lack of team spirit.

  • A player is going to get injured by this pitch, they'll say they should've abandoned the match.

  • @Geolardo Says who? The pitch looks fine...

  • Does Harry Kane ever score anything else other than penalties and tap-ins?

  • @Sputnik Yes

  • @Geolardo You sure about that?

  • @Sputnik Once again your comments reveal how little you actually watch football or bother to look up quantitative data when you don't know. Kane has scored many headers and shots from distance.

  • @MEHJones A Welshman supporting England? Now I've seen everything!

  • Kane +137 / Judey With The Booty +350 To Score Anytime

  • Denmark 0 England 4 Kane 9' , Bellingham 22' , Foden 48' , Saka 66'

  • ENGLAND Pickford, Trippier, Guehi, Stones, Walker, Rice, Alexander-Arnold, Foden, Bellingham, Saka, Kane.

  • SUBS Ramsdale, Henderson, Shaw, Konsa, Dunk, Gomez, Gallagher, Gordon, Mainoo, Wharton, Bowen, Eze, Palmer, Toney, Watkins.

  • So far betting wise these Euro games have been hard to predict :(

  • @Marbella btts was laughably easy to predict so far

  • @Zootball You need to say it BEFORE a game instead of after.

  • @Marbella what do you mean? I'm talking about the whole tournament, look at the results

  • @Marbella I am just using 'small stakes' until the Quarter final games.

  • @Marbella For sure

  • 1-1 or last minutes eng to score 1-2

  • 1-1

  • England / Argentina Win double @ 2.25 Odds

  • @Marbella I told you not to bet double, especially not with England in it with its anti-football!

  • England will win here, should be an easy win. BellyKane to score/+2,5 are good options too.

  • England have conceded just 6 goals in their last 13 matches at tournament finals.
