Team News

Ross County
Rangers
  • Interim Ross County boss Don Cowie named three changes to the Staggies side that lost 2-1 to Aberdeen at Pittodrie, before a sole goal was enough for Kilmarnock to beat them at Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon.
  • George Wickens continued in goal, behind an unchanged back three of Michee Efete, Jack Baldwin and Ryan Leak. Eli King took Victor Loturi's place in the County midfield, to join Connor Randall in the middle of the park.
  • Loick Ayina and Josh Reid continued at right wing-back and left wing-back respectively. Eamonn Brophy and Jordan White joined Simon Murray in a gung-ho front three, as Yan Dhanda and Josh Sims made way for the three strikers to start.
  • Rangers manager Philippe Clement named two changes from the Gers team that recorded a 3-1 victory over Hibernian upon their return to league action, before a crazy 3-3 derby day draw against Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
  • Dujon Sterling took Borna Barisic's place in the Gers defence to join James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and John Souttar. John Lundstram and Mohamed Diomande continued in midfield.
  • Tom Lawrence came in for Todd Cantwell to join Scott Wright and Fabio Silva in support of lone striker Cyriel Dessers. Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo, who's netted two in two as a substitute, both came off the bench to score in the Old Firm so are pushing for places in the starting eleven.

Prediction

  • Second bottom hosts second top, as Ross County and Rangers are both in need of the points in Sunday's sole Scottish Premiership fixture.
  • Ross County suffered back-to-back away defeats in the Scottish Premiership which, thanks to St Johnstone's win at Easter Road, means they occupy the relegation playoff place. Having only won once away from home in the league all season, albeit that was away to Kilmarnock who County faced at the weekend, the Staggies will look to make home advantage count in order to stay up.
  • Rangers were disappointed by Dundee, as their clash with the Dee at Dens Park was postponed yet again. They'll be hoping to put a topsy-turvy Old Firm derby behind them, after recovering from two down and rescuing a 3-3 draw against league leaders Celtic. The Gers avoided losing each of their first three derbies of a league season for the first time since 2003/04 under Alex McLeish.
  • Despite County needing to be up for the fight and scrap their way to safety, their record against Rangers is poor so the Gers should come out on top on Sunday to maintain the pressure on Celtic.
