- Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes named four changes to the Killie team that advanced into the Scottish Cup quarter-final thanks to a 2-0 victory over Cove Rangers, before a 1-1 draw with Celtic at Parkhead last Saturday afternoon.
- Joe Wright entered the Killie back three, as they headed to the side that were sat top of the Premiership table, replacing Rory McKenzie. Danny Armstrong replaced Fraser Murray to start at right wing-back against Celtic last Saturday.
- David Watson, who grabbed the equaliser, had to do so from the bench as Liam Donnelly was given the nod to start at Celtic Park. Kevin van Veen was replaced by club captain Kyle Vassell who partnered Marley Watkins up front.
- Interim Aberdeen boss Neil Warnock made two changes from the Dons' mental match with Motherwell last midweek, which ended 3-3 at Pittodrie, before another draw as they were held at home by Hibernian in a 2-2 stalemate on Saturday.
- Richard Jensen entered the Dons defence after illness, as they resorted to a back four. He joined Nicky Devlin at right-back, Stefan Gartenmann in the centre and Jack MacKenzie at left-back. Dante Polvara was sat amongst the substitutes.
- Graeme Shinnie, Connor Barron and Leighton Clarkson continued in midfield. Jamie McGrath supported Bojan Miovski and the incoming Duk in the Aberdeen attack. Shayden Morris dropped out of the matchday squad altogether.
