Team News

Kilmarnock
St. Mirren
  • Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes named two changes to the Killie team that nicked a late leveller to draw 2-2 with Dundee in their last league game, before they were knocked out of the Scottish Cup losing 3-1 to Aberdeen on Saturday.
  • Despite scoring Killie's equaliser at Dens Park, Robbie Deas made way for Stuart Findlay to return in the Kilmarnock defence. He joined Lewis Mayo, Joe Wright and Corrie Ndaba in front of Will Dennis in goal.
  • Matty Kennedy is out with a knee problem, so David Watson took his place on the left-hand side of midfield. Goalscorer Danny Armstrong continued on the right with Liam Donnelly and Liam Polworth in the centre. Kyle Vassell and Marley Watkins continued in attack.
  • Stephen Robinson named an unchanged St Mirren side after the Buddies were held in the Highlands by Ross County in a 1-1 draw in Dingwall, before they bounced back with two late goals to beat Aberdeen 2-1 the weekend before last.
  • Zach Hemming continued in goal with James Bolton, Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' back three. Elvis Bwomono, Hyeok-Kyu Kwon, Caolan Boyd-Munce and Scott Tanser remained in the four-man midfield.
  • Club captain Mark O'Hara equalised from the spot after coming off the bench. Lewis Jamieson and Greg Kiltie supported Mikael Mandron who was chosen as the Saints' sole striker. Substitute Toyosi Olsuanya netted the winner against the Dons, so is angling for a start.

Prediction

  • Fifth meets fourth, as Kilmarnock host St Mirren with the two teams going toe-to-toe at Rugby Park, in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon down in Ayrshire.
  • Killie missed out on a trip to Hampden Park in the Scottish Cup semi-finals, as they lost what proved Neil Warnock's final match as Aberdeen manager. Now their attention returns to Scottish Premiership duty, where their objective is simple in that they're looking to finish as high up the Scottish Premiership table as they can. Victory over St Mirren here would be a big stepping stone.
  • St Mirren left it late in their last league match against Aberdeen, as two added-time goals saw them sneak past Aberdeen to remain in fourth place. Having had the weekend off, a luxury which Kilmarnock didn't have, they'll have hoped to use the time wisely - watching Killie beaten by Aberdeen at lunchtime on Saturday - and aim to extend the gap of a point to four after this weekend.
  • The two teams played out a 1-1 draw in Ayrshire back in September. However, Killie won in Paisley back in December and will hope to bounce back - and sneak past Saints - to leapfrog the Buddies.
