- Rangers manager Philippe Clement named one change from the Gers team that saw off Motherwell at Fir Park 2-0 on Christmas Eve, before a disappointing defeat in the Old Firm at Parkhead against Celtic where they lost 2-1.
- Ridvan Yilmaz, Leon Balogun - who was sent off at Celtic Park so is suspended for this one - Connor Goldson and goalscorer James Tavernier continued as the back four. John Lundstram joined Dujon Sterling, at Kieran Dowell's expense, in midfield.
- Abdallah Sima and Ross McCausland looked to provide width on the flanks, as Todd Cantwell supported lone striker Cyriel Dessers. Scott Wright came off the bench in the Gers' only attacking change on Saturday.
- Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes named just one change to the Killie team that secured their second away win of the season in Paisley as they beat St Mirren by a sole goal, before a dramatic 2-2 draw with Dundee which rounded off 2023.
- Lewis Mayo, Stuart Findlay and Robbie Deas have developed a real understanding in defence but were joined by Joe Wright, who nodded Killie level, as they shifted to a back four at Rugby Park. Corrie Ndaba made way as a result.
- Five in midfield became a four of Danny Armstrong, Brad Lyons, David Watson and Matty Kennedy. Club captain Kyle Vassell lead the line, alongside Marley Watkins who netted the winner against St Mirren in their last away match.
