Team News

Ross County
St. Mirren
  • Ross County boss Derek Adams made two alterations from the Staggies' 1-0 defeat to St Johnstone in Perth, before his third dugout debut in Dingwall ended in a goalless stalemate with Kilmarnock at the weekend.
  • James Brown replaced Victor Loturi to start at right wing-back against Killie on Saturday. Connor Randall shifted inside to join Scott Allardice with Ben Purrington continuing at left wing-back.
  • Jordan White made way for Josh Sims to enter the fray, he partnered Simon Murray in attack with the duo supported by Yan Dhanda. Kyle Turner, Jordan White and Alex Samuel all came off the bench so are pushing for places here.
  • Stephen Robinson named two changes to the St Mirren side that was battered 4-0 by Dundee at Dens Park prior to the international break, before bouncing back with a sole goal success over Livingston in Paisley on Saturday.
  • Club captain Mark O'Hara missed the defeat to former club Dundee, but returned to skipper Saints at Keanu Baccus' expense as he joined Caolan Boyd-Munce in midfield with Greg Kiltie further forward.
  • He supported Mikael Mandron and Jonah Ayunga, making his long-awaited return from injury. Conor McMenamin moved to right wing-back as the injured Ryan Strain made way in the starting XI.

Prediction

  • This Scottish Premiership fixture was due to take place last month but due to horrific weather, Ross County will finally play St Mirren for the first time this season.
  • County have failed to score in three consecutive Scottish Premiership matches, but did move up and out of the relegation playoff place. A clean sheet and point is a decent base to build from but the Staggies have won one home league match so far this season. They've beaten Saints back-to-back in Dingwall, but have never won three on the spin at home in the top tier against the Buddies.
  • As for Saints, it was imperative that they got back to winning ways - no matter how pretty or ugly. A sole goal proved enough to get the better of Livingston in the end, remaining above both Edinburgh clubs for the time being. After beating County in February last season, they're aiming for successive league victories over the Staggies for the first time since October 2021, in a run of four.
  • No result would be a surprise in this one but County can't score goals at the minute and Saints showed their solidity at the weekend. Perhaps another slender St Mirren victory is in the offing in the Highlands here.
