Team News

Dundee FC
Rangers
  • Dundee boss Tony Docherty made three changes from Dundee playing out a goalless draw against Ross County at Dens Park, before they picked up their second league win of the season as they beat Livingston 2-0 away from home.
  • Aaron Donnelly made his Dundee debut, joining Antonio Portales and Joe Shaughnessy - whose brace proved the difference at the weekend - in the Dee's back three as Jordan McGhee and Owen Beck started at right and left wing-back.
  • Lyall Cameron returned from injury, joining Malachi Boateng and Mo Sylla - making his first start - in midfield. Luke McCowan supported Zak Rudden in attack as Ricki Lamie, Fin Robertson and Amadou Bakayoko dropped onto the bench.
  • Rangers manager Philippe Clement named just one change from the Gers team that picked up a point in Prague thanks to a 0-0 draw away to Slavia in their Europa League match, before they left it late to beat Hearts 2-1 on Sunday.
  • Borna Barisic is injured, and Ridvan Yilmaz is not in the European squad, so Ben Davies took the Croatian's place at left-back. However, Yilmaz took John Souttar's place as Ben Davies shifted inside to partner Connor Goldson at centre-back.
  • After a James Tavernier penalty looked to have rescued a point for Rangers, Danilo came off the bench to nod the Gers in front even later in added time. The Brazilian is pushing to start in midweek as a result.

Prediction

  • Both Dundee and Rangers left it late to win at the weekend, before the two teams meet at Dens Park in one of the five Scottish Premiership matches on Wednesday night.
  • It was a wonderful win for Dundee at the weekend, as their 2-0 victory away to Livingston saw the Dee ascend to fifth place in the league table before the midweek matches. Unbeaten in four Scottish Premiership matches, three consecutive clean sheets after two goalless draws before their first away win of the season, the newly-promoted Dark Blues are proving a tricky team to face.
  • Rangers weren't at their best but turned their game against Hearts on its head, cutting the gap at the top of the table to five points on Sunday after Celtic were held by Hibs in a goalless draw at Easter Road on Saturday. Having just conceded the first goal of the Philippe Clement era, the Gers enter their midweek match in a good place and hoping St Mirren can hold the league leaders.
  • Despite Dundee's decent recent run, they're up against a fairly rejuvenated Rangers who found a way to sneak past their opponents at the weekend and will hope to do so again here.
