Team News

St. Johnstone
Kilmarnock
  • St Johnstone boss Steven MacLean named three to the Saints side that held Aberdeen at Pittodrie in a goalless draw, before they were thumped 4-0 in Paisley by St Mirren on Saturday in what proved his final match as Saints manager.
  • Two changes came at left wing-back and right wing-back, as Diallang Jaiyesimi was handed his first Saints start on the left-hand side and James Brown came in on the right-hand side. Drey Wright and Graham Carey missed out completely.
  • Luke Jephcott dropped to the bench, as Nicky Clark started with Dara Costelloe in attack. Tony Gallacher, Cammy MacPherson, Jay Turner-Cooke, Stevie May and Chris Kane all came off the bench at the weekend so may be included here.
  • Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes named one enforced change to the Killie team beat Livingston 3-1 at Rugby Park, before they made it two home wins from as many matches as they beat Aberdeen 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
  • Stuart Findlay, Joe Wright and Lewis Mayo continued as the Killie back three. Danny Armstrong started on the right hand side of midfield, as David Watson, Brad Lyons and Liam Polworth started in central berths.
  • The only alteration saw Matty Kennedy replace the injured Corrie Ndaba on the left. Kyle Vassell and Marley Watkins continued in attack, with both netting a goal against the Dons in Killie's weekend win.

Prediction

  • Kilmarnock have won their last two Scottish Premiership matches, and head to Perth to take on a winless and managerless St Johnstone in midweek.
  • Saints have picked up 4 points from the potential 27 available to them so far this season, with four wins and five defeats in their nine Scottish Premiership matches in the current campaign. There is speculation surrounding who the new St Johnstone manager will be but they have to start picking up points if they're to maintain their top-tier status as they are already five behind everyone.
  • Killie enter their midweek match full of confidence, after back-to-back victories at Rugby Park. Last season, their home form proved pivotal and kept them in the division. But, aside from their midweek opponents, Kilmarnock are the only Scottish Premiership team yet to win an away league game. They won just two last season, this is a great opportunity for their first this season.
  • St Johnstone are in dire straights right now and, coupled with Killie's excellent recent form, this is a golden chance for the visitors to pick up three points in Perth.
