- Hearts boss Steven Naismith made three changes after it was a case of Hampden heartache for the Jambos as they lost the League Cup semi-final 3-1 to Rangers, before they bounced back with a 2-1 win over Motherwell at Fir Park.
- Alan Forrest replaced Toby Sibbick at right wing-back. Alex Cochrane continued on the left hand side with Stephen Kingsley, Kye Rowles and Frankie Kent making up the Jambos' back three.
- Jorge Grant and Kenneth Vargas made way for Alex Lowry and Liam Boyce to start in the attacking trio. The duo were joined by Hearts' main talisman Lawrence Shankland who has scored six goals in his last seven games for club and country.
- St Johnstone boss Craig Levein made one change from the Saints team that ruined his dugout debut after a 2-2 draw with Motherwell where they were two to the good, before a pivotal 1-0 win against Ross County at McDiarmid Park.
- Dimitar Mitov started behind a back three of Ryan McGowan, Liam Gordon and Andy Considine. Luke Robinson started at left wing-back as the incoming James Brown - who replaced Sven Sprangler to start - came in at right wing-back.
- Dan Phillips sat behind matchwinner Graham Carey and Matt Smith in midfield. Chris Kane accompanied Nicky Clark up front, with Stevie May having to settle for coming off the bench against County prior to the international break.
