Team News

Getafe
Girona
  • Omar Alderete is out with a knee injury until the end of the month, at least. He did not feature in the 1-0 loss to Valencia last weekend.
  • Mason Greenwood returns after serving a one match ban, adding some much needed attacking flair back in Jose Bordalas' side.
  • Juanmi Latasa and Jaime Mata, while wasteful last weekend, should be the strike partnership this weekend.
  • Viktor Tsygankov was forced off against Osasuna late on with a knee problem. He will miss the game against Getafe most likely.
  • David Lopez and Daley Blind returned to the heart of defence as a pair for the first time in 2024 for the victory over Osasuna, keeping a clean sheet.
  • Portu has been preferred by Michel just behind Dovbyk and now seems to be a permanent fixture in attack.

Prediction

  • Getafe welcome Girona to Madrid this weekend, aiming to seek some revenge for the 3-0 loss the hosts suffered for their trip to Catalonia back in August. This time around Getafe will be looking to frustrate Michel's men, likely trying to grind out a goalless draw if they find themselves level on the hour mark.
  • The hosts, though, haven't kept a clean sheet in seven games and will likely have to chase the game on Saturday evening. Girona have been quite impressive on the road, too, and have scored the second most goals in the league this season. They will likely cause Getafe some problems.
  • Girona could likely see themselves come back to the east of Spain with back-to-back clean sheet victories.
