Team News

Valencia
Real Madrid
  • Thierry Correa is the only injury concern, which will inject some positivity into this hopeful Valencia squad.
  • Diego Lopez will return this weekend following his month-long struggle with injury, though he may well be coming off the bench.
  • Fran Perez could get the nod over Javi Guerra, who could be utilised as a super sub.
  • Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga will return from suspension this weekend, having played no part in Los Blancos' 1-0 victory over Sevilla on Sunday evening.
  • Jude Bellingham is back in training as he continues his steady recovery from an ankle injury. Ancelotti will want him at 100% before rushing him back to action.
  • Antonio Rudiger completed 90 minutes against Sevilla and kept a clean sheet on his return from injury. He will be one of the first names on the team sheet on Saturday.

Prediction

  • Valencia welcome Real Madrid to the south coast for a historic matchup that has the Mestalla completely sold out for Saturday night. The reverse fixture back in November ended 5-1 thanks to Rodrygo and Vinicius braces. Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping those two can find similar form this weekend as a win could take Real nine points clear at the top of La Liga, with plenty of room to breathe.
  • If Valencia were to send Real home with their tails between their legs, they would move within a single point of Real Sociedad who currently sit in seventh place. The hosts, though, haven't scored in their last two matches, and have only two wins in the last five. Real Madrid, however, are unbeaten since the 18th of January.
  • Expect both teams to score in this one, though Valencia may only be netting a consolation goal.
