Team News

Real Sociedad
Real Madrid
  • Hamari Traore is out with a shin injury he sustained from the Getafe draw last week in Madrid. Alvaro Odriozola could start his fourth game of the season in his place at right-back.
  • La Real will be strengthened by the return of Igor Zubeldia and Martin Zubimendi from suspension.
  • Take Kubo has made two cameos from the bench in his last two, and he could be in for a start on Friday.
  • Vini Jr played a fantastic and inspired game against Barcelona after picking up a knock against Manchester City and should be available again. Ancelotti will need him until the title is clinched.
  • Dani Carvajal was replaced by Lucas Vazquez in El Clasico, who earned the player of the match award with a goal and assist.
  • Ferland Mendy is out with a muscle injury. Eduardo Camavinga has been filling in at left-back with a mentality well beyond his years.

Prediction

  • A rare Friday night clash for the nearly champions Real Madrid after their monumental El Clasico victory last week. They make the trip north to San Sebastian to face Real Sociedad. The hosts should well expect to be without the ball for long periods in this one, as midfielders Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde all started in the team for the first time this season.
  • Real Madrid took the points in the reverse fixture as they wan out 2-1 winners at the Bernabeu. The hosts haven't tasted victory over Ancelotti's men since the 2020 Copa del Rey in a 4-3 win. Real Madrid now have the most clean sheets in La Liga and Sociedad will be worked hard to even score a goal on Friday night as the visitors chase the title.
  • Expect this one to be a treat, an entertaining Friday night clash between two of the most prestigious teams in the league. Real should be clear winners here, though.
