Team News

Rayo Vallecano
Osasuna
  • Aridane Hernandez is nearing a return to first team action following injury, though Abdul Mumin could keep his place in defence having kept a clean sheet against Getafe last week.
  • Kike Perez returns from his injury and will be an extra option for Inigo Perez out wide.
  • Randy Nteka could get a go up top given the two consecutive 0-0 draws Rayo have played out in recent weeks.
  • Johan Mojica is a doubt with a muscle injury he picked up on Monday night and the short turn around could see him absent from the team.
  • Aimar Oroz is once again sidelined with an injury problem - he could be absent for another couple of weeks yet.
  • Ante Budimir will be desperate for a goal to clear his conscience from one of the worst penalties of all time he took, failing to save a point against Valencia.

Prediction

  • Rayo Vallecano welcome Osasuna to Madrid on Saturday afternoon in their bid for guaranteed survival, their drab 0-0 draw with Getafe last weekend didn't spark hope into the hearts of their fans that the club is definitely safe from relegation. The visitors aren't in great spirits, either, having fluffed a vital six pointer against Valencia. Only eight points separate them with Rayo in the table.
  • The reverse fixture ended 1-0 to Osasuna in Pamplona thanks to a late Raul Garcia goal. Rayo look more solid now, though, and although they haven't scored in their last two matches, they have managed to keep two consecutive clean sheets with Florian Lejeune leading the defence.
  • Osasuna could struggle to break through here, and if Rayo are on form, they could win their first match in three.
