Team News

Getafe
Valencia
  • Damian Suarez, Diego Rico, and Omar Alderete are all unavailable through yellow card accumulation suspensions.
  • Fabrizio Anglieri, Gaston Alvarez, and Domingos Duarte could all start and fill in due to the three suspensions picked up against Las Palmas.
  • 18-year-old left back Yarek Gasiorowski will likely continue to fill the boots of the injured Jose Gaya. He played well in Valencia's 2-1 loss to Girona last week.
  • Mouctar Diakhaby came off the bench in the last match and should be back to full fitness for the trip to Madrid.
  • Hugo Duro scored a gorgeous chip in the game against Girona and will undoubtedly be Ruben Baraja's number one man up top this weekend.

Prediction

  • Although very poor in Gran Canaria last week, Getafe have an opportunity to extend their unbeaten run at home to nine games in La Liga. Valencia are moving on from a disappointing result last week, falling to defeat against Girona in the last ten minutes.
  • Both sides like to control the possession when given the opportunity, and both sides are only separated in by 0.1 for xg per game - so this one is likely to be a tight game. Hugo Duro broke behind the lines of Girona last week to cooly finish, and Mason Greenwood has been steadily growing into his explosive wide role more and more for the hosts. A moment of magic from either forward could be the only difference this game needs for the points to swing either way.
  • Getafe have a number of significant defenders sidelined through suspension for Friday evening's clash, so Valencia will grab the bull by both horns and return to the south coast with a smash and grab victory.
