Team News

Crystal Palace
Liverpool
  • Crystal Palace remain without key men Eberechi Eze and Cheick Doucoure.
  • The pair join Dean Henderson and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on the sidelines, while Tyrick Mitchell is a doubt for the welcome of Liverpool.
  • Liverpool continue to be without Thiago Alcantara, Andy Robertson and Stefan Bajcetic.
  • Diogo Jota and Alisson both remain injured.
  • Joel Matip's knee injury has been confirmed as a rupture of his ACL. He will be out until the end of the season, so we may have seen his last appearance in a Liverpool shirt.

Prediction

  • Three days on from their home defeat to Bournemouth, Crystal Palace welcome Liverpool to Selhurst Park.
  • The Eagles have won just one of their last eight in the league and have only recorded one win at home this season, back at the start of September.
  • The pressure is mounting on Roy Hodgson and his tenure is becoming increasingly scrutinised.
  • Liverpool have lost just once this season and are currently on an eight-game unbeaten run.
  • The Reds beat Sheffield United 2-0 at Bramall Lane on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Virgil Van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai.
  • Crystal Palace haven't beaten Liverpool at home since November 2014, and that run is likely to continue here.

  • Crystal Palace 1 - Andy Madley 2 - don't need to say any more

  • Kloppy time. What a joke.

  • @fenway226 There were so many fouls in the 2nd half + the ref and VAR taking ages to make an incorrect penalty call :)

  • 70+ minutes of football played and no Liverpool shot on target is bad........... especially against Crystal palace

  • @sethactive Agreed, although once again referees threatening to destroy the game. I don’t think Ayew deserved to go off and I definitely don’t think it was a penalty, so purely by luck the scales are balanced… except I believe Andy Madley knew they f***ed up with the penalty call and was looking for any excuse to “make it right”

  • That penalty is an absolute f****** disgrace.

  • @sarigginsUSA Imagine as a referee seeing a player get nicked on the shin after the ball is already gone in a situation in which the attacking player was facing away from goal with the other defender blocking the path to goal and in which no players protested the lack of a penalty call, and believing the right decision is to call back the play 2 minutes and give an almost guaranteed goal as a fair balance??

  • @sarigginsUSA this is a clear foul sorry

  • @wdetac It's a light foul if that and if we're seriously giving penalties for stuff like this on a regular basis, we might as well make it a non contact sport. To be clear, this has happened in favor of Liverpool a few times in the past as well and I absolutely detest that the standard for penalties is so low.

  • Nunez, Gravenberch, arguably Diaz have been totally ineffective. Goes to show our offense has been pretty reliant in the forward areas on Salah, and the rest are underperforming. 2nd half I expect Gakpo to come on, possibly from the start, and Harvey Elliott probably as well. I think Salah needs license to hold a narrower starting position and get Szoboszlai to take the wider route as he’s our best player at producing goals from nowhere when a team is proving difficult to break down

  • Should never have taken 4 minutes to rescind that penalty, inane level of time taken. That said, for once var’s made the right call

  • If that is not called a foul on Endo that is a disgrace

  • Expect Tsimkas will come back in for Gomez here.

  • banker of the weekend 2-0 liverpool

  • 0-3 Fit right wing for Liverpool with TAA, Szoboszlai and Salah

  • Crystal palace to score

  • 1-3 Liverpool win, Salah to hit 200

  • Both teams have scored in all 10 of Liverpools away matches this season.

  • @Marbella Now 11 games :)
