Team News

Liverpool
Man Utd
  • Liverpool remain without the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota, while defender Joel Matip has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
  • Alexis Mac Allister looks set to miss this one with a knee problem.
  • Erik ten Hag could be without as many as 13 players for Sunday's trip to Anfield.
  • Captain Bruno Fernandes was shown his fifth yellow card of the season last weekend, and will have to sit this one out.
  • Both Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw picked up injuries in the midweek defeat to Bayern Munich and will have to be assessed if they are to play a part here.
  • United remain without long-term absentees Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia.
  • Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford remain doubts, but should start here if cleared to.

Prediction

  • Liverpool were beaten in the Europa League in midweek, but retain their 100% record at home this season.
  • The Reds have won all 11 matches at Anfield so far, with seven coming in the Premier League.
  • Both sides will remember all too well the 7-0 thrashing the hosts inflicted on United in this fixture last season.
  • Man United have now lost three of their last four matches, including their last two, at home, without scoring a goal.
  • Erik ten Hag's side were comfortably beaten by Bournemouth at Old Trafford last weekend, and many will spectulate that the United boss' fate could be sealed with a comprehensive defeat here.
  • Man United have failed to find the net at Anfield since December 2018, while conceding 17 goals in the five fixtures since then.

  • Is disgusting when players are trying to cheat, even in such small episodes as ball out of play. It happens everywhere, in every game. No wonder Dalot was pissed off, when Salah was doing that. At least the top players need to have some dignity to admit these kind of things. The other topic is the "quality" of English referees . Its one of the things similar for EPL and Sunday league.

  • @tar88s it's just western culture.

  • fire klopp, he is done

  • Great game from Varane. Does anybody really believe was last choice CB bc of performance? Ten Hag is making very weird decisions

  • I swear Nunez is taking payments to get caught offside as much as possible.

  • I cant believe what ive seen from liverpool today absolutely shocking performance by them, if they play like this next week Arsenal will Annihilate them

  • Anfield applauding that is a disgrace

  • This has been a pathetic performance by Liverpool

  • @sarigginsUSA yeah arsenal will have a field day next week if they play like that again

  • @sarigginsUSA the exact word I would have used. Not a single right decision made in the final third all game.

  • Has LFC gotten their dodgy penalty yet?

  • Elliott finally coming on, thank god

  • Trent as always this season has been phenomenal, but outside of that this has been the most drab game I’ve watched this season

  • Nunez and to a lesser extent Szoboszlai have been incredibly bad so far. Game is screaming out for Gakpo or Elliott, United have so far proven incapable of even passing the ball

  • @sarigginsUSA Nunez is a lie that Klopp hope can magically become true. He belongs to Burnley. Liverpool should get Victor Boniface.

  • @sethactive Dude already has two goals involvement and counting, a goal and an assist

  • Under 3 goals for sure

  • @syddoc good call!

  • Draw

  • Liverpool could get 'done' here.

  • Salah to score anytime.

  • MU have named a terrible side.

  • I hesitate to jump the gun as anything can happen, but this XI from United is incredibly weak on paper. Unless they score first, I don’t really see any way into the game for them

  • A red card too much yellow cards. Manchester united to score first goal VAR to verify atleast two outcomes

  • Liverpool 7-0 (7up) again

  • 2-3 Rashford

  • This will be a draw. 0:0/1:1

  • both are vulnerable in midfield when off the ball. 2-2

  • @koziol.mutant not Liverpool, Endo is playing today instead of Klopp's son McSheilister

  • Rashford has norovirus.

  • Oh no... they will sack Erik after this one

  • 4-0

  • 7-0

  • Another 7-0 ? :)

  • Poor Bruno is going to miss out on a great match. Too scared to play - what a pathetic captain!

  • Liverpool 3-1.

  • Could be ETH last game in charge.

  • Maguire to score OG!

  • At home, against a wounded and mentally weak United with deep scars of the hidings they’ve received off Liverpool, and a Liverpool team flying high that absolutely loves turning it up to 11 in the big games. Obviously anything can happen in football, but this could become the nastiest result yet. It’s extremely likely in my eyes for a United player to lose their cool at 6/7 and pick up a red for a potential career ender, thankfully no Bruno who has no respect for his fellow competitor. My dream is a 10-0, I think all of Anfield feels that if it could ever happen, it would be this time around, but I think more realistically we’ll see a 4 or 5 nil. If Salah is switched on and at his true best though, then I could see it happening.

  • LFC 7-0 ManU hahaha

  • @aeclubwoi Doubtful!! The worst Liverpool team under Klopp beat Ten Hag's United 7-0. Now that Liverpool are back to the top of the league, they'll probs beat them 10-0 this time around.

  • The end of ETH tenure
