Team News

Man Utd
Liverpool
  • Erik ten Hag has a mounting injury crisis at centre-back after both Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans sustained knocks at Chelsea on Thursday night.
  • With Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez out, Willy Kambwala is set to partner Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence.
  • Scott McTominay is also in line to start in place of Casemiro, who came off due to injury in midweek.
  • Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Anthony Martial are ruled out.
  • Jurgen Klopp will hope to have Wataru Endo available for selection with the Japan international a doubt having missed the 3-1 win over Sheffield United.
  • Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota are still two weeks' away from returning to action.

Prediction

  • Manchester United were 3-2 up heading into injury time at Chelsea only to concede twice late one and lose 4-3. United have now won just one of their last five league matches.
  • Liverpool extended their unbeaten run to seven league matches with a 3-1 win over relegation threatened Sheffield United on Thursday night. The Reds did lose their last away match, that a 4-3 FA Cup semi-final loss at United.
  • Liverpool may have failed to beat United in their two previous meetings this season. Surely they won't slip up a third time.

  • Told you guys so.

  • that was not a penalty at all. i have nothing against Liverpool they were to much better but the VAR should do his job fairly and should be questionned. it's a title matter.

  • @sampo Honestly, I'm inclined to agree.

  • Liverpool had a few long-time injuries last season, they went to Europa League. Arteta got Arsenal in relegation zone, they trusted the process and still hoping it's fruit. Chelsea went from mid-table to mid-table, Spurs barely above United and both of those teams didn't have European competition this year. Less games, less injuries. United had to deal with many injuries this season, playing with academy players and youngsters all the time and still showing up for big games. I also hate the stress this club is giving me week in and out but those who try to make fun of it are absolute clowns, give the credit where it's due.

  • @Byakuya Mainoo, Maguire, Wan Bissaka, and Dalot were really good, in fairness Onana made some crucial stops too. From a Liverpool perspective though, what I witnessed was a team that inexplicably decided it could play a full 90 in first gear. I don't know if previous performances have gotten to their heads or what, but that was genuinely the worst I've seen Liverpool play this season and a huge indictment of on-field leadership. We desperately needed someone in the midfield to tear into Diaz and Nunez for their wastefulness.

  • Salah went a magic way from very underrated player - to a very overrated. Cannot finish from 3 meters into the net, cannot drible anybody 1x1 at his flank, cannot run away anymore - defenders catch him up... biggest salary in the club - for what.. for scoring penalties which he is also unreliable with. Pfff. I hope he will be sold to Saudi for a deserved pension money.

  • That's the league gone from us.

  • If this is truly all we can offer in this second half, we don't deserve to be anywhere near the title conversation. This has been utterly pathetic

  • @sarigginsUSA the finishing all round has been a bad joke.

  • How to slow down time: 1. Planking 2. Watching United hold the score

  • Man Utd are trash, 45 mins and not a single shot!!! #ETHOUT

  • @harteless You were saying?

  • United have been pathetic at best, but Klopp will be absolutely tearing into Liverpool at half-time. If we were ruthless as we should be, it would be 5 or 6 now

  • manu 6-1

  • @moven 6-2

  • @moven 2-2

  • Eric Ten Ball Bag

  • Liverpool will target central defenders poor Maguire and 19 year old Newcomer Kambwala.

  • MAN UTD Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Kambwala, Dalot; Casemiro, Mainoo; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund.

  • As An Arsenal Fan feels weird I gotta root for Man United lmfao

  • @KingKeno same boat here lol but i guarantee you united fans dont want liverpool to take the the championship and not city too for them arsenal is the lesser evil lol

  • LIVERPOOL Kelleher; Bradley, Quansah, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Endo; Salah, Nunez, Diaz

  • meh

  • Liverpool Win

  • Done all the combinations of Salah/Nunez 0-2, 0-3,0-4, 1-2, 1-3, 2-3, 3-4, 1-4, 2-4, same with Chelsea and Palmer/Jackson, no sure if smart bet, if works will do same with Spurs, Son, Johnson.

  • Liverpool to win, Salah and Nunez to score.

  • Bet MU

  • Kambwala starts, so 1-3. United conceding more shots in 2024 than any other side in Europe’s traditional top-five leagues ahead of the weekend

  • If Varane , Evans, and Casemiro are out and Maguire, Kambwala, and McTominay start this match, it'll be an absolute massacre I think.

  • United's U18 just put 9 past Liverpool away, at least kids are doing well and that's the only positive thing about this club at the moment.

  • @Byakuya not only, sir Radcliffe is making top executives from top to down, firing useless staff etc. Things will get better ;)

  • draw

  • Surely, they will.

  • Over 2.5 goals.

  • If Liverpool win or draw, it will mean Man United are mathematically out of the title race. Making it officially 11 seasons (and counting) without a title.

  • @Nico1 You can't talk about Man Utd and title race on the same sentence, mathematically or not.

  • Really tricky to predict. Normally you’d assume United would be out for blood considering Liverpool’s standing and the result today against Chelsea, but with this United squad, nothing is predictable. That said, Liverpool’s quality is so incredible with finishing being the main weakness, and yet we still have the most goals out of all top 5 league teams. I think this will see an early goal and be a high scoring affair, maybe 2-5 or something. Liverpool win though

  • @sarigginsUSA Switch to baseball or another sport that people from the USA follow, you simply do not get football.

  • @sarigginsUSA Liverpool don't have most goals

  • @GoonerRSA In all competitions is what I meant, my b.
