Arsenal
- Dele Alli and Seamus Coleman and Jack Harrison are all ruled out for Everton this weekend.
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin is closer to a return, while Michael Keane will have to be assessed before playing a part.
- Sean Dyche will likely opt for the same team that secured a point at Sheffield United last time out.
- Jurrien Timber is out for the rest of the season and Thomas Partey is now facing a period on the sidelines.
- Mohamed Elneny remains ruled out.
- Mikel Arteta should however have no other injury concerns.
- Gabriel Jesus could now come back into the starting XI, after coming off the bench to score against Manchester United last time out.
This match will be a battle. Everton tend to kick the living shit out of us and get away with it. Our record there is terrible, time to change that. A Havertz performance will go a long way towards earning credit with the Arsenal fans. As for Everton, looks like they will play with a low block and counter through Beto - with Iwobi gone they really lack goals and attacking threat. Shut down doucore and arsenal win or draw bar more stupid mistakes from Ramsdale, Saka etc..
@Overmars A Havertz performance ... ;-) That is as likely as Rice scoring a Hattrick.
Everton at home to arsenal, Everton win 4 draw 1 arsenal haven't won any game at godson park
@Kelving The good thing is that Everton have never been this bad
@Kelving I hope that changes :)
arsenal over corners, Everton over cards. Arsenal to win with bts.
Arsenal are not killing off teams. What really happens against teams like Everton. Doesn’t matter their form. They raise their hame against Arsenal and a guy who’s never scored for the club will get a goal or assist against Arsenal. If Arsenal doesn’t score at least 2 in first half. Everton are going to score a 1:0 and get all 3 points like the usual previous encounters. Mikel is experimenting with Havertz who is a total waste. Very likely he will continue with him again. Can’t predict this game at all.
@albgunn , absolutely spot on. If Arsenal doesn't take a good lead in the first half, you'd have to fancy Everton to get some sort of results, as bad as they are. This is the difference between Arsenal and City. I'm struggling to understand why the manager keeps starting Havertz. Him on the pitch is like playing with 10 men.
As long as Arteta play players on their correct positions, Arsenal will definitely win these kind of games. I believe that only Man City are stronger than Arsenal in the premier league but the only downfall for Arsenal is team selection where the manager doesn't pick the strongest available line up and also set the players in the wrong positions like having central defenders as fullbacks or defensive midfielders as defenders. And of course, the Havertz factor.
@GoonerRSA roles are more important than set positions. Also before Arsenal Ben White was largely a CB
@Futbol101 I hear what you are saying but I saw Kiwior playing a left back against Brighton when Tieney was on the bench and Arsenal ended up losing 3-0. Partey as a right back whilst White was on the bench and the whole lot of mix up. When a midfielder is set as a fullback, the winger has always found himself dropping deeper, like when Man Utd scored. Your example about White doesn't make a cut because he can play as a RB or CB but how do you explain Tomiyasu at left back when Zinchenko on the bench.
9 of Evertons 11 home league games under Sean Dyche have featured fewer than 4 goals.
