Team News

Crystal Palace
Arsenal
  • Crystal Palace were boosted by the confirmation that Michael Olise has extended his stay at the club, though the Frenchman is not expected back until next month.
  • Matheus Franca and Will Hughes also miss Monday's welcome of Arsenal.
  • Roy Hodgson should go with the same XI that started the 1-0 win at Sheffield United.
  • Arsenal have been rocked by injury to Jurrien Timber, who will miss most, if not all of, the season.
  • The Dutchman joins Mohamed Elneny and Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines, while Oleksandar Zinchenko, Folarin Balogun and Albert Sambi Lokonga face late fitness tests.
  • Takehiro Tomiyasu should start in place of Timber at left-back, in what may be the only change Mikel Arteta makes for Monday's trip across the capital.

Prediction

  • Crystal Palace got their season off to a winning start at Sheffield United last weekend with Odsonne Edouard's second half strike enough to secure all the spoils. The Eagles, though, have lost two of their last three home meetings with Arsenal.
  • The Gunners also earned an opening weekend win as they beat Nottingham Forest 2-1. They did make things difficult for themselves late on as Forest mounted a comeback, but Arsenal held firm.
  • Arsenal have lost only one of their last six trips to Selhurst Park, and they'll be confident of making it two wins from two to kick off the campaign.

  • I hope Arteta doesn't play this 3-4-3 against the top teams. 4 of our next opponents include Man Utd, Tottenham, Man City and Chelsea and this could turn very ugly. Arteta is trying by all means to copy Guardiola the way he set up his defense but Guardiola compensate for it by having midfielders who are better in possession. It is going to be a very tough season.

  • Absolutely disgraceful job by the referee. That undeserved red card almost cost Arsenal the game. Crystal Palace deserved at least 3 more yellow cards

  • @Soccerlogically The first yellow was justifiable. I have no idea what Tomiyasu was thinking. The second one was not even a foul and Ayew himself was supposed to have long been gone for wrestling Saka. But Arteta needs to learn fast, in England when a fullback yes Yellow away, you take him off. I actually feared the worst the moment Tomiyasu picks the first yellow.

  • Havertz with a great performance as usual.

  • @neumi17 How did you get to choose your favorite team? I couldn't do that. I chose my favorite team many times, but I couldn't

  • Can someone explain why Saka’s shot was not a Shot on Target. It was clearly on target

  • @Soccerlogically on bet365 I wrote with the support and I was told that they rate it as a shot off target and they are not interested in the recording, they only focus on official statistics, it's just ridiculous....

  • @Soccerlogically I took a video of this and am going to send to the bookie lol if they tell me otherwise

  • @vanessche would you mind sharing the video? I would like to dispute this as well

  • Arsenal playing a very attacking 4-3-3 line up.Hopefully there will be goals in this game.

  • Arsenal to win decisively.

  • Martinelli for a brace, and Havertz gets his first on the season. Odegaard 2+ assists. Arsenal route 4-1 with a late one being conceded.

  • Btts

  • Saka shot on goal lock

  • Zaha was always the man on Palace to Cause The Gunners Problem, 3-0 Arsenal

  • @KingKeno you are right.. fenerbahce got a problem now

  • easy arsenal win,0-3

  • Over 2.5 goals @ 2.00 Odds. Both teams will attack and NOT sit back and defend.

  • It really a tight game though but expecting goals from both side

  • 1-1

  • I expect the result 2-0 for Arsenal

  • Doucouré = Liverpool ? Yes or no ?

  • @Saeedghaffari no

  • This could be a tricky game for Arsenal.

  • Really? Arsenal didn't look good at home last match and Palace got a win away.

  • @SlobbaN against one of the worst teams in the premiere league ... its not always about where you play and more about who you play .. Sheffield United is a guarantee bottom 3 this season ... nottingam forrest are a force to be reckoned with not as a contender but as a legitimate obstacle

  • @SlobbaN that was a blip. We back to business tonight.
