Team News

Arsenal
Man City
  • Oleksandr Zinchenko is likely to miss the game against his former club through injury.
  • Mohamed Elneny, Reiss Nelson and Albert Sambi Lokonga are all ruled out through their respective injury trouble.
  • Declan Rice is expected to start as the Gunners look ahead to the new season, but new signings Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber may start from the bench.
  • Kevin De Bruyne is nearing a return to action, but is expected to miss the game against Arsenal.
  • Nathan Ake, however, may play some part in the Community Shield, but is a slight doubt.
  • New signing Mateo Kovacic is expected to feature, but the game will be too soon for City to feature potential new signing Josko Gvardiol, as City have agreed a £77 million fee with RB Leipzig for the Croatian defender.

Prediction

  • The curtain raiser for the season see's title rivals for the majority of last season, Arsenal and Manchester City, lock horns in the 2023 Community Shield.
  • Manchester City won the treble last season, and as a result, Arsenal are apart of this years final courtesy of their runner-up spot. The Citizens featured in the last two finals, losing to Leicester City in 2021 and Liverpool in 2022. Arsenal last featured in this competition in the 2020 edition, beating Liverpool on penalties.
  • Arsenal have dipped into the transfer market and signed Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber from West Ham, Chelsea and Ajax respectively. We are likely to see at least one play, but could see all three feature.
  • Pep Guardiola's side got the better of the Gunners this time round, but face even fiercer competition this time round. They could be the first ever Premier League team to win four consecutive trophies in 2023/24, and a win could give them the mental advantage over what could be their closest rivals this time round in Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side.

  • How many tackles?

  • 11 touches during the match??? 0 tacles??? 0 interseptions??? Hahaha! Guys, you should work better)

  • Why does Trossard 7.42 got the star instead of Ramsdale with 7.48?

  • 3-3 btts in both halves

  • Arsenal to win on penalties.

  • @Sputnik Well Done :)

  • Manchester City have won 16 of their 19 meetings with Arsenal under Pep Guardiola (D1 L2), though both defeats did come at Wembley.

  • Trossard must start. Forget about Nketiah. He cannot hit a barn door against defences like City’s. Trossard will bring everyone else into play and link up with Martinelli and Saka unlike Eddie. I’d like Jorginho to start here over Rice who hasn’t settled yet. City big favourites as they are going for their 6 season trophies where they’ve gotten past 3 main ones. English super cup. This one . European SuperCup and the and international club World Cup. That’s what City is aiming here. If Mikel starts with a weak team and is not sure. City will wrap up the game in first half.

  • yep, both to score and at least 4 goals

  • @koziol.mutant check that game very well...whoscore says ManCity is playing away while Tab says it plays home...

  • Man City 2-0
