Team News

Athletic Club
Sevilla
  • Peru Nolaskoain misses out, as does Asier Villalibre, who will not be back until the end of December. Yuri Berchiche is still missing.
  • Dani Vivian is a doubt following a recent injury, but he is not expected to start.
  • Raul Garcia should get the nod over Oihan Sancet up top, while Oier Zarraga might just beat Neco Williams in the race to start on the right.
  • Jesus Navas is out until the New Year, as is Youssef En-Nesyri.
  • Suso and Erik Lamela were previously listed as doubts, but they have now been ruled out for this one.
  • Ivan Rakitic is out due to suspension and will likely be replaced by Oliver Torres.

Prediction

  • Athletic Club's scoring troubles continue to haunt them, and they were made to settle for another draw last time out, drawing 0-0 against Getafe.
  • That followed a narrow defeat to Real Madrid in a game they dominated, but once again couldn't take their chances. Athletic Club have now drawn three of their last four games, and they head into this game ninth in the table with the third worst scoring record in the league. On the contrary, they have conceded the joint-fewest goals.
  • Sevilla were dealt a huge blow during the week, losing to RB Salzburg to crash out of the Champions League. Despite having a favourable group on paper, they managed just one win and now slip into the Europa League.
  • In La Liga, Julen Lopetegui's men pulled off a big victory last time out, winning 1-0 thanks to Lucas Ocampos' header. That followed an extra time Copa del Rey win over Cordoba and a defeat to Real Madrid.
  • Sevilla are now second in La Liga and eight points behind Real Madrid, but they may well be forced to leave the Basque Country with just a point.
