Team News

Valencia
Mallorca
  • Cristiano Piccini continues to battle through injury issues and will miss this one.
  • Thierry Correia is also a doubt with an aductor injury. Toni Lato has a hamstring strain and is a doubt, while Koba Koindredi is also lacking full fitness.
  • Few changes, if any, are expected here given Valencia put in a very solid showing last time out.
  • Take Kubo remains out until December with a knee issue, while Aleksander Sedlar is also nursing a knee injury.
  • Antonio Raillo remains out after missing last week and Jaume Costa is a doubt, but the experienced left-back is still expected to start.
  • Mallorca put on a solid display last time out, despite suffering a late defeat, so Luis Garcia is likely to stay course here.

Prediction

  • Valencia felt hard done by last time out as they slipped to a defeat to Barcelona despite taking the lead through a superb early strike from Jose Luis Gaya.
  • A questionable penalty decision against Gaya turned the tide at Camp Nou, and Jose Bordalas' men wound up losing 3-1. Still, the performance was an encouraging one from Valencia, who had their chances, including Carlos Soler hitting the post, and they will head into this one keen to pick up all three points after a difficult run of games.
  • Mallorca, meanwhile, looked as though they would hold 10-man Real Sociedad to a draw, but goalkeeper Manolo Reina all-but fumbled an effort into his own net and the point slipped away.
  • It's now three straight defeats for Mallorca as they head to Mestalla, and they will need to be at their best to avoid making it four, with Valencia clear favourites here.
