Team News

Eintracht Frankfurt
Augsburg
  • Captain Sebastian Rode needs an op on his knee injury. New signing Jens Petter Hauge or Ajdin Hrustic could slot into midfield.
  • Eintracht have added Denmark international Jesper Lindström from Bröndby on a five-year deal, while Christopher Lenz has arrived from Union Berlin.
  • Amin Younes has departed for Saudi Arabia.
  • Eintracht will have to replace the 28 Bundesliga goals last season from Andre Silva, who has left for Leipzig. Colombian striker Rafael Santos Borré has signed as a free agent from River Plate in Argentina on a four-year deal to fill the void.
  • Jens Grahl has joined from VfB Stuttgart to provide competition between the sticks.
  • Reece Oxford is on his way back from injury, as is Daniel Caligiuri who tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Tobias Strobl has an ankle injury, while Alfred Finnbogason has ligament problem.
  • Niklas Dorsch will bolster midfield after signing from Belgian side KAA Gent.
  • 18-year-old talent Lasse Günther has joined on a free from champions Bayern.
  • Arne Maier has joined on loan from Hertha Berlin and will boost squad options.

Prediction

  • Eintracht made an early cup exit and lost badly to BVB last weekend as well, but will be buoyed by the return of a few thousand home fans making a lot of noise. Moreover, Eintracht have beaten Augsburg three times in a row without conceding a goal.
  • Augsburg look to have made a couple of useful signings, Niklas Dorsch in particular and will fancy their chances of nicking a point.
