Team News
Southampton
Liverpool
- Southampton have had 10 days to prepare for the welcome of Liverpool on Tuesday night.
- Alex McCarthy was back on the bench last time out and could make his first league appearance since December as Fraser Forster only returned to training on Monday.
- Stuart Armstrong is also a doubt for Southampton's final home game of the season.
- Look for Oriol Romeu to come back into the starting XI after dropping to the bench in defeat to Brentford last time out.
- Che Adams was an unused substitute in defeat to Brentford and will push for a recall up top.
- Liverpool's FA Cup final win over Chelsea came at a cost with Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk coming off injured. Neither are expected to play here.
- After Manchester City's slip-up on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp has a massive decision to make here. He should really rotate given the tight turnaround but he will now be tempted to go full strength.
- Fabinho travelled with the Liverpool team to Wembley but won't be risked here with the Champions League around the corner.
- Youngsters Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott will hope for game time on Tuesday.
What a performance from Milner by the way, he was absolutely class today.
It's really shocking that to this very moment there are comments criticizing Klopp! What Klopp is doing this season is miraculous. never seen such a thing a team in the most challenging league in the world won already 2 titles, and still competes to the very last 90 minutes in the other 2 tournaments, and dominating a sensitive away game with a B-team.
@Yman these people only go off of what big media tells them. Listening to klopp in his press conference you could tell he's significantly impressed with his 2nd team guys. When practicing 11 vs 11 Saying "Well at least we don't have to play them this weekend" basically referring to his bench players as better than most of their regular opponents. Just because guys like Elliot and Jones aren't regulars people don't think they are good enough. Clearly they are. Milner also put on a ridiculous performance. But you're right they absolutely dominated Which is strange and people will still say it was a bad decision smh
@FootyFiyah There's a guy in this comment section who literally said the words ‘the fact that Liverpool eventually won doesn't make much difference’ to whether or not Klopp was right to do it. If winning isn't evidence of a correct managerial decision, what is?
@cimbricus It doesn't make difference in the title race, you rеtard. City are going to beat Aston Villa.
Liverpool B vs Liverpool B
Klopp went overboard with the subs. Why piss away any chance of the Quadruple like that.
@alx30 Because there are no chances.
@alx30 There's no quadruple, City are winning the league
@alx30 Quardrople is imagination journalists.
Klopp was talking in the presser about how much confidence he has in his 2nd team players, he did kind of concede the title race saying no one expects City to drop points but he still has faith in the side he's presenting. 0-2, 0-3
Quite a bold lineup from Liverpool
Over 10.5 corners
@pew2830 l'pool have been corner stingy of late
Both teams to score - NO @2.10
@yourfootballtips.com yea right
Proper spanking
@Madcat are you describing this football game or what I did to your mom? :D
@uefalona You don't leave your house let alone talk to women let alone spank them
@Madcat How would you know? I do all those things.
Salah is not a big miss for Liverpool, Van Dijk could be
Under 2.5 goals.
@Finucci And btts. :D
@Finucci …Considering the fact that Southampton have only failed to score in one of their last 17 home games and Liverpool have just one clean sheet in their last six away.
@Finucci Away & NG? Or do you think So’ton could get a goal?
@Finucci looks more likely........... A goal or non
Home goal or over 2.5 goals
Home goal or over 2.5 goals
1-2 For Liverpool
Liverpool win 0-1
1-3 Liverpool
Routine 0-2 Liverpool win. Seems like the type of game Origi might play a part in
