Team News

Chelsea
Leicester
  • Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger will likely return in defence for Chelsea after skipping the midweek defeat to Arsenal, with Cesar Azpilicueta expected to move out to right wing-back.
  • N'Golo Kante and Jorginho will be reunited in midfield after being rotated in recent games to keep them fresh, though the latter was at fault for Arsenal's winner on Wednesday. Mateo Kovacic is also back for the final.
  • Christian Pulisic was seen limping after the defeat to Arsenal but Timo Werner is expected to take his place in the team here anyway.
  • Ben Chilwell played 90 minutes against Arsenal in midweek so logically Marcos Alonso should start here, though the former will be desperate to face his former club Leicester in the final.
  • Jonny Evans has missed Leicester's last two matches through injury and Brendan Rodgers will be desperate to have him back here.
  • James Maddison should return to the starting XI at Wembley after being partially rested against Manchester United in midweek.
  • Ricardo Pereira was an unused substitute against United and will hope to be recalled here, though it wouldn't be a surprise if Marc Albrighton kept his place.

Prediction

  • May could prove a wonderful month for Chelsea, as they close in on a place on the top four and could yet end up winning the FA Cup and the Champions League. Thomas Tuchel has only suffered defeat three times in 26 games as Chelsea manager, although one came on Wednesday to Arsenal.
  • Leicester ended their two-game winless streak with their first victory at Old Trafford since 1998 on Tuesday night but Brendan Rodgers' side didn't look great even against a second-string Manchester United side. Rodgers' has a woeful record against Chelsea as manager, winning only one of 16 previous encounters with the London outfit.

  • First FA trophy for Leicester. Gongrats

  • why does this site bury every cup final deep down on the main page? I had no idea this final was today.

  • @GioMonaldo It's still better than the Copa del Rey matches, that they don't even cover.

  • @MrNemobody German cup final was yesterday, they didn't cover it either

  • Sure it happened before, but for me today VAR killed football.

  • @tutekthetut cry

  • Why use Kepa in an FA Cup Final, let alone any FA Cup game, when Mendy has been doing so well? Kepa is the worst signing in Chelsea's history.

  • @Moriniq It's convention to use backup GK in FA Cup, but yeah GK made the difference. Schmeichel with huge saves and a proper GK might have saved Tielemanns shot. Also everyone believes in victory when they see a discredited GK like Kepa in opposition goal.

  • Chelsea supporters got problems

  • Midfield an defence doing the most to keep the ball forwards waste all chances but somehow you brainless fools blame kepa for that goal:) any keeper would have a hard time with that shot

  • Tuchel is blaming VAR for the Chelsea loss.

  • @nexus747 I think there is a case for a handball before the goal

  • Schmeichel MOTM

  • Werner, Mount, and Ziyech were awful, but Chelsea's defeat is Kepa's fault ? Ahahah. Chelsea had to score in the first half. Too many BS from Tim Werner.

  • @SushiOverdose if not hecause of Kepa at least we could still have a draw. So yes our defeats in this match and the one before were his fault.

  • @Frei78 Tielemans did a good shot, you can't blame the GK on this one. Chelsea had 2 good shots on target in the second half - the other one is an easy save. You can see this everywhere for every final, UK, Spain, France, Germany, Italy... : if you have the ball but don't score, you can expect an opponent's goal on a single shot. And that's what happened. I still hope that Chelsea will win UCL, but if the guys in front play like tonight, City can celebrate already.

  • @SushiOverdose that wasn’t the first time kepa didn’t save such a shot, it happened a lot last season, which gave confidences to many opposing players to just go ahead gave a shot if the goalie was him. If it was mendy, i think tielemans would’ve think twice since he rarely gets beaten from long range. Regarding our blunt offense, that doesn’t always guarantee a lose. Many finals also ended up in extra time and penalty kick out.

  • @Frei78 well we see this situation differently, but I agree with you with the extra time. I thought it was done before the silly VAR said no goal, showing an offside for a piece of finger - the frame they freeze might be the wrong one for the pass ! Maybe there's no offside one or two frames before the one choosen. But well, this happens in UK every weekend right?

  • Good Luck against Man City... Last chance for silverware.

  • Lost 2 matches just because of Kepa. Lololol. Good decision, Tuchel. Good decision. Combine him with Zouma and surely we’ll win the ucl final and the next premier league.

  • Fielding Kapa, threw away half of the Cup, Werner the other half. Mount not preforming today, no Cup.

  • Hahahaha Chelsea panty sniffers

  • Tuchel should play kepa again for the remaining matches including the ucl final. He’s playing way much better than Mendy. Really deserves a ballon d’or

  • @Frei78 indeed, the best keeper in the history of football

  • Pfffffttttt........!! LOL

  • Mason Mount To Score Outside the Area 28/1 big price

  • Werner will get one of the Leicester players sent off with his pace

  • Zyiech 10 times possesion lost after 27 mins wth?

  • @Nataku but the worst player is Werner...

  • @Nataku That's ziyech's playstyle, trial and error

  • @Nataku yeah he wasted so many chances. Really a bad purchase by chelsea last summer, including havertz that is.

  • @Frei78 Havertz is still young, lets wait and see

  • 2-1

  • What has happened to Mendy ?

  • Werner to rule the roost today

  • Chelsea 2-0

  • @nexus747 You failed

  • Chelsea will win.

  • Why use Kepa?

  • 21,000 football fans will be in attendance at today's FA Cup final between Leicester and Chelsea at Wembley.

  • 2-0 or 2-1 CHELSEA

  • Chelsea 4.2 odds? R you kidding us? Bet365 showing Chelsea 1.9, Leicester 4.2.. Both team to score, 2-1

  • @Babor143 false advertising, they should get fined for it

  • Chelsea win here. Leicester score though

  • 4-0 to leicester

  • @Foxeyrod Ok, you failed

  • @SlimB but after waiting 52 years since i was 9 years old and we lost to man city in our last FA cup final .... 1*0 will do. happy foxes

  • 2-0
