Team News

Liverpool
Middlesbrough
  • Liverpool need to win in order to secure a top four spot and Jurgen Klopp will play his strongest available team as a result.
  • Jordan Henderson has an outside chance of playing but it would be a surprise to see him start on Sunday.
  • Roberto Firmino is still a doubt and Klopp will need to decide whether to bring him back into the side at the expense of Daniel Sturridge or Divock Origi.
  • Klopp is expected to stick with the 4-3-1-2 formation that saw Philippe Coutinho play as a No.8.
  • Middlesbrough still have doubts over the fitness of Gaston Ramirez, Victor Valdes, Daniel Ayala and Adlène Guédioura for Sunday's trip to Anfield.
  • Patrick Bamford may have earned another start here after scoring in their last match.

Prediction

  • Liverpool know that a win against Middlesbrough will secure their spot in the top four. While Middlesbrough are already relegated, these are fixtures that Jurgen Klopp's side have struggled with at times this season, particularly at home.
  • Middlesbrough, however, haven't won away from home since August and have rarely troubled anyone in that time. In fact, they have failed to score in nine of their last 11 away league matches.
  • The pressure will be on Klopp's side but they should have no problem beating Middlesbrough on Sunday.

  • Are these comments serious? Surely Liverpool will win this! I'm gonna say 3-0, if they play like they did vs West Ham this will be a walk in the park for Liverpool. Liverpool will score and Boro's heads will drop which will lead to more goals. I'm a Boro fan and I've seen it a lot recently. I also think back to the reverse fixture when Liverpool won 3-0 at the Riverside. Boro were outplayed that day and they were still in the league, a relegated Boro surely will not be better, they'll be much worse

  • @SethTrollins just arsenal fans hatting

  • @edemex I didn't think about that, lol. No Champions League for them now!

  • Liverpool 2 - 0 Boro Tight nervy game for LFC but don't see them blowing their season in the final game. Would be hilarious though

  • Going with 2-0 because Firmino may be missing and his false 9 play is integral to producing a fluid Liverpool performance. They should still have enough to beat a dejected Boro team, but I have gone for a conservative score.

  • @SteveHyland flo...

  • Calum Chambers with a brace.

  • Coutinho scored, yes, but he lost the ball a lot of times, due to selfishness. For me, Wijnaldum was MOTM. A superb finish, and a great assist.

  • Coutinho your mission is done in this club

  • @A.r.m.e.n Still has to win league and ucl.

  • @RobbieFowler He said "in this club".

  • middlesbrough win 2-1 or 3-2

  • @ProGuess Are you delusional?

  • middlesbrough win 2-1 or 3-2

  • middlesbrough win 2-1 or 3-2

  • Liverpool have nothing that can trouble Chambers. 0-1 to Boro.

  • @What4 They beat them 3-0 earlier this season, mate

  • under 2.5 goals Liverpool 1 - 1 Boro

  • Who voted for Sadio Mane as MOTM? Lol!

  • @benjamin7797 me

  • I predict 3-0 Liverpool. I also think that this will be a very important match in the history of LFC!!!
