Fanteam Fantasy Football: Manchester City dominate rankings after heavy Watford win
Manchester City could not chip into Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League but did record the result of the weekend after thrashing Watford 8-0 on Saturday. Pep Guardiola’s side ran riot over the Hornets, as they did in last season’s FA Cup final. Given the size of the scoreline, it’s no surprise City dominate the top points scorers on Fanteam Fantasy Football.

James Maddison (Leicester) / Ricardo Pereira (Leicester) / Aaron Ramsdale (Bournemouth) / Nathan Ake (Bournemouth) / Andriy Yarmolenko (West Ham) / Ederson (Manchester City) - 9 points
John Lundstram (Sheffield United) – 10 points
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) – 11 points
Chris Wood (Burnley) – 12 points
David Silva (Manchester City) / Aaron Cresswell (West Ham) – 13 points
David Silva kickstarted Manchester City’s huge win over Watford with a goal in the opening minute. The Spaniard was the beneficiary of a wonderfully whipped Kevin De Bruyne cross to finish from close range. Silva had four attempts on goal in total and also completed three dribbles. The 33-year-old was typically efficient in possession, completing 90.9% of his passes.
Aaron Creswell capped his return to the West Ham starting XI with a wonderful free-kick in their 2-0 win at home to Manchester United. The 29-year-old was making his first league appearance since West Ham’s opening weekend 5-0 defeat to Manchester City as cover for Arthur Masuaku, who was suspended. Cresswell also helped West Ham keep a third successive clean sheet in home league matches with four tackles and interceptions combined.
Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) / Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) / Nicolas Otamendi (Manchester City) – 16 points
Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez were two of four Manchester City players to garner a perfect WhoScored 10 rating in their 8-0 win over Watford. De Bruyne registered two assists and capped off the result with a pile-driving effort that left Ben Foster with no chance. The Belgium international created eight goal scoring chances in total.
Mahrez, meanwhile, won a penalty, scored a free-kick, albeit via a huge deflection, and assisted De Bruyne for his goal. The 28-year-old had four shots, registered four key passes and completed three dribbles. Mahrez also completed 92.5% of his passes and chipped in with two tackles.
Nicolas Otamendi is the third City player to register 16 points on Fanteam Fantasy Football. City had very little to do at the back after amassing 69% possession, though Otamendi still managed three tackles. The Argentina international got in on the rout after benefitting from Aguero’s driven pass across the face of goal to slide into an empty net.
Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) – 19 points
Bernardo Silva finished gameweek six in the Premier League as the WhoScored Player of the Week in the Premier League ahead of City teammates De Bruyne, Mahrez and Aguero, who also got perfect WhoScored 10 ratings. Silva scored his first Premier League hat-trick to help rack up 19 points on Fanteam Fantasy Football.
