Tottenham 1-1 Arsenal player ratings: Forwards frustrated as Spurs finally draw

Tottenham drew for the first time in 35 Premier League matches as they came from behind to avoid defeat to Arsenal in North London Derby. We run through the player ratings from a game filled with drama at Wembley.

TOTTENHAM

Hugo Lloris - 7.28: Having been rounded by Aaron Ramsey early on Lloris was a spectator for much of the game but made himself the hero with a save from Aubameyang’s weak penalty.

Toby Alderweireld - 6.39: Very little to do but did have a chance to equalise early in the second half on the volley that he hit wide.

Davinson Sanchez - 5.45: Committed a dreadful error for the Arsenal goal and looked shaky thereafter. Unfortunate to concede a soft penalty but was unconvincing all afternoon.

Jan Vertonghen - 7.13: The strongest of Spurs’ back three, Vertonghen capped an assured display with a game saving block after Lloris had saved a last minute spot kick.

Kieran Trippier - 7.84: Strong in the first half, particularly with his delivery into the box. Faded in the second but produced a joint match high of six tackles.

Victor Wanyama - 5.93: A surprise inclusion for only his second start of the season but looked well off the pace and was rightly replaced just before the hour.

Moussa Sissoko - 6.64: A typical performance from an increasingly important player, driving the team forwards with purpose but exposed positionally as Spurs chased the game.

Danny Rose - 6.65: Solid enough at left-back and played with great energy but his passing was exposed when asked to play as a makeshift midfielder. Correctly booked for a foul on Leno.

Christian Eriksen - 6.22: Poor in possession by his standards and wasted a great chance to equalise just before the break.

Son Heung-Min - 6.15: An extremely quiet display compared to his recent form, offering very little in the final third and failing to link up effectively with Kane before being substituted.

Harry Kane - 7.53: Fought well all game but was well marshalled for the most part. Scored convincingly for the spot.

Subs: Erik Lamela (6.23), Fernando Llorente (6.15)

ARSENAL

Bernd Leno - 6.40: Poor distribution for much of the game but saved well from Eriksen before producing one of the saves of the season from Sissoko’s rebound.

Shkodran Mustafi - 6.27: Was playing well enough out of position at right-back before an all too familiar moment of madness to give away the penalty from which Kane levelled.

Sokratis - 6.36: Dealt with Kane well all afternoon with strong positioning to avoid any foot races but was care free in possession, completing just 58% of his passes.

Laurent Koscielny - 6.96: Another solid display as he puts his injury woes behind him, with three tackles, two interceptions and seven clearances.

Nacho Monreal - 7.78: Excellent defending in one-on-one situations, winning all six of his attempted tackles and producing a further four interceptions.

Matteo Guendouzi - 6.32: Battled as hard as ever but did give away possession too cheaply, with Emery looking to Torreira’s superior composure after the break.

Granit Xhaka - 6.27: Like Guendouzi, Xhaka struggled to keep the ball to alleviate pressure and was booked for an accumulation of fouls in the second half.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan - 7.06: Worked hard when out of possession all game and showed quality with the ball, completing three dribbles along with a sumptuous pass that deserved better from Aubameyang late on.

Aaron Ramsey - 7.27: Marked his final North London Derby appearance with a confidently taken goal, showing great composure to round Lloris under pressure.

Alex Iwobi - 7.20: A lively display to justify his selection, particularly in the first half, completing three dribbles, two tackles and having a decent effort saved.

Alexandre Lacazette - 6.78: Uncharacteristically poor in front of goal, mistiming two chances, the latter of which should have been buried. Well weighted assist for Ramsey’s goal.

Subs: Lucas Torreira (5.06), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (5.75), Mesut Ozil (6.14)
