Three England youngsters among top 10 Premier League player form rankings
Following their 5-0 trouncing of Huddersfield it’s little wonder three Liverpool players make the leaderboard in our latest Premier League form rankings, though PFA Player of the Year Virgil van Dijk is not among them.
We run through this week’s top ten…
10. Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) - 7.63 weighted rating*
Up six places this weekend, the Reds youngster registered his ninth assist of the Premier League campaign - and third in four appearances - with a perfectly weighted ball through to Mo Salah.
9. James Maddison (Leicester) - 7.63 weighted rating*
With a perfect cross for Youri Tielemans’ opener against Arsenal, Maddison registered his seventh league assist and mustered five shots in a dominant display to move into the top ten.
8. Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace) - 7.64 weighted rating*
A high riser this week, up 14 places as Palace kept in-form Everton at bay, Wan-Bissaka had a quiet day defensively by his standards - albeit producing four interceptions - but completed more dribbles than any other Premier League player over the weekend, with seven.
7. Ayoze Perez (Newcastle) - 7.65 weighted rating*
Seemingly on course to compete for top spot this week having scored his fifth goal in three games, Perez’s flying form was cut short by injury having been forced off just after the half hour mark against Brighton.
6. Lucas Digne (Everton) - 7.75 weighted rating*
Falling three places this week, Digne still put in a solid display in a goalless draw at Palace, producing three tackles and three key passes as he looks to end and impressive debut campaign at Everton on a high.
5. Sadio Mane (Liverpool) - 7.75 weighted rating*
Taking his Premier League tally to 20 goals for the season with a brace at Huddersfield, Mane so nearly scored a hat-trick of headers and climbs seven places into fifth.
4. Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) - 7.76 weighted rating*
A new qualifier having now started six of City’s last eight league matches, Bernardo Silva is straight in at four following another typically busy display at Burnley, mustering five shots, five key passes and three tackles.
3. Jamie Vardy (Leicester) - 7.79 weighted rating*
With a brace against Arsenal taking his tally against the Gunners to eight - making them his favourite opponent - Vardy has now scored six goals in his last five Premier League matches.
2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - 8.06 weighted rating*
Determined to retain the Golden Boot this time around, Salah scored twice in victory over Huddersfield to move one clear atop the scoring charts and the highest Premier League rating this weekend, with an assist and five dribbles contributing to a perfect 10.
1. Eden Hazard (Chelsea) - 8.29 weighted rating*
Keeping hold of his place at the top of the table, Hazard failed to pick the lock against Manchester United but was still the biggest threat on the pitch. The Belgian has three goals and two assists to his name in his last six league outings, completing 36 dribbles in that time.
QUALIFYING RULES
Only ratings taken from each player’s last six league matches are considered, weighted chronologically, with the most recent match carrying greater importance and so on. To qualify each player must have featured in their side’s last league game and started at least six of the last eight available.
