Team Form Rankings: Arsenal eye top spot as winning streak continues

It’s all but level pegging atop the European team form rankings ahead of the return of the Champions League this week, with Manchester City just edging PSG to top spot this time around.

Both teams secured convincing 5-0 wins at the weekend, with City dispatching of Burnley to ensure that they have conceded just once in their last six matches, while scoring 17. The Ligue 1 champions eventually romped to victory over Amiens and are now the only team in Europe’s top five leagues yet to drop a single point this season.

That’s because Juventus could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Genoa, dropping from third to sixth as a result, with Borussia Dortmund taking their spot on the podium for the time being. The Bundesliga outfit remain three points clear at the top of the table following yet another big win, this time hitting Stuttgart for four, taking their league goal tally over the last six matches to 23.

Arsenal move up a place into fourth following a seventh consecutive league win, this time over Leicester, coming from behind to tame the Foxes. Had Unai Emery’s side not shipped goals in four of their last six games there’s little doubt they’d be even higher up the rankings, but the early signs remain very encouraging in the Gunners’ new era.

RB Leipzig complete the top five after extending their unbeaten run to seven league games, while Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Borussia Monchengladbach are all high risers onto the leaderboard, with the latter climbing 24 places into ninth following a 4-0 win over Mainz.

Chelsea complete the top ten having salvaged a point against Manchester United to retain their unbeaten start under Maurizio Sarri, while Wolves and Bordeaux drop out of the top ten following defeats to Watford and Montpellier respectively.
